Weekend O'Fun

This weekend was jam packed with fun things, most notably Erin and Daddy's completion of their very first 1/2 marathon! 13.1 miles and they both finished in great times! But before Mommy gets ahead of herself, lets back up to Friday.

Aunt Erin arrived on Friday ready to grub. Grub on carnival food that is. She, Mommy, Jace, and Lexa took advantage of the local annual festival in town and did just that.

Jace even got a balloon animal. It was originally a dog on a leash. Then his back legs came undone. Then his body popped. Then the leash came off. Then it was just a pile of deflated balloons. It was sure fun while it lasted though!

Saturday morning began with Lexa's first parade! Jace was thrilled (as Mommy looked back over the pictures she had to chuckle with her choice of words. Despite his totally UNthrilled look in the pics, he really did enjoy the parade) with the many, many, many trucks, tractors, and cars tooling along in the parade.

It ended up being a pretty hot afternoon so Mommy took advantage of the extra hands and she and Erin took the wee ones to the pool.

Lexa appeared to love the pool as much as her bath.

Jace, always watching out for his little sis.

Sunday morning was the big day. Erin and Daddy began running at 7 am. Jacer was pretty tuckered out after his busy day and late night partying at his friend Lauren's so Mommy literally had to drag him out of bed at 8:30. It proved to be in the nick of time because Erin crossed the finish line in right around 2 hours. (Sorry, Mommy doesn't have an actual picture of her crossing because she took it on Erin's camera).

Lexa, patiently waiting for Daddy and Erin.

Daddy soon followed in 2 hours, 12 minutes!

Mommy's photography skills were obviously lacking in this shot. She was trying to capture the time and forgot about poor Daddy. Check out waaay on the right side and you'll catch his arm.

Way to Go!!!!

Jacer, trying on Daddy's medal for size.

Lexa and Erin celebrating after the run.

Grandma decided to come for the day and join Mommy in assisting Erin in replacing her burned calories. Can anyone say FRIED SNICKERS???

Jace and Daddy took off by themselves for a while and grabbed some donuts and a face painting. Seriously, who but Jace would request a hotdog on their face?

P.S. Guess who has totally found her thumb??

Jace and Lexa's Adventures

Ok, they are really just Jace's adventures but Lexa is always along for the ride!

So Jace and Lexa had planned a trip to Nana and Papa's Wednesday to check out the zoo and spend time with Uncle Chuck and Nana and Papa. Turns out 90 degrees with humidity is no good for a 3-month old. So, an alternate plan was devised. And extremely successful.

Monkey Joes! Jace's newest favorite activity. If only it wasn't 2 hours away! Basically it was a building full of bouncy houses. Jace was first in a bouncy house at Gaiges birthday party last year. He was a little bit of a maniac that night but Mommy didn't think much of it. Until yesterday. All Mommy kept saying was, "is that really my child"???? Jace has really become more daring in the last few months and has lost much of his wimpiness (sorry to adult Jace reading this in 20 years but you kind of were). Anyway, seeing him have so much fun with so little inhibition was wonderful (and somewhat reminiscent of Mommy's college days!).

Climbing up....

Getting air!

More air....AND no hands!

This is what Lexa thought of Monkey Joes.

After sweating his cute little hair flat, Jace gathered enough energy to meet Nana and Papa for some grub.

Papa was egging this on a bit but Jace was loving giving Nana some big, wet spagetti kisses.

Funny picture. Notice the family enjoying ice cream. But wait? There is an empty car seat. And where is Mommy? Ah yes, that is Mommy's ice cream melting away as she feeds Lexa. In the car. Again. And lamely takes a picture of everyone else.

So, Jace and Lexa were pretty tuckered out after a long day of bouncing (and eating in Lexa's case) but as Mommy always says...there is no rest for the weary!

Thursday was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for a day at the petting zoo with some buddies.

Jaxon, Gaige, and Jace posing nicely for a picture. Quite a task for 3 crazy boys!

Jace was petting this puppy and telling him, "Don't be sad. Your Daddy is just at work."

Jacer, feeding the horses a carrot.

Jace and Gaige feeding the pigs.

Mommy didn't notice this at the time but it appears that Jace is pulling this poor baby's tail.

The last pictures have absolutely no relevance to the rest of this post but they crack Mommy up.

Lexa figured out how to grab Jace's ear. And pull.

Being the nice, tolerant brother, he just smiled. But check out Lexa's evil grin!

3-Month Photo Shoot

Lexa and Mommy just love dressing up and taking pictures. Well, Mommy does anyway. After a nice long 12-hour stint of sleep the other night, Mommy thought it was the perfect time to take some shots. It ended up being rushed because Jacer wanted in the pictures too so Mommy was a little disappointed. Here are a few for you to check out anyway!

Truth Be Told.........

Yes Lexa, you do wear those thighs well.

It's been a while!

The crew has finally returned! Actually Daddy and Bubba came home Friday so Daddy could bring home the bacon.

Speaking of Daddy...Happy Father's Day! Daddy and Jacer have the best relationship....they are actually best friends. Just ask Jace. They love having guy time and doing tons of things together. Daddy and Lexa have a little different relationship but one that Lexa surely loves. Nobody else in the world tells her how pretty she is 95 times per day! Yep, Jace and Lexa are pretty lucky....and Ozzy too!

Happy Father's Day to Grandpa F., Grandpa Steve, and Papa Cook as well. You are all so wonderful to Jace and Lexa and they truly love you!

Ok, back to the trip. It was tons of fun!! Jace and Lexa got to meet Ashlan who is Cousin Tracy's new baby. They also got to meet Cameron who is Mommy's good friend Julie's baby. Jace was infatuated with both of them. Weird, considering he has his very own baby at home. Anyway, he couldn't get enough and is still talking about them.

One of the highlights of the trip was the day at Grandpa's Farm. Daddy caught about 100 fish (no kidding...well maybe not quite) and a killer sunburn. Jace caught 3 fish all by himself!! Mommy, Grandma, and Lexa mostly hung out in the shade but Lexa did break out the bikini (proof below).

Mommy ended up running her 5k (wink, wink fellow runners) in fairly decent time. Grandma had Lexa for over 3 hours (no it didn't take Mommy that long to run)!!! This is the longest Mommy has been away and Lexa suspiciously didn't need to eat?? Yeah, Mommy is being played! She secretly kind of likes it though!

Jacer was able to swim over at Cameron's Grandma and Grandpa's. He and Mommy splashed around for a while without a problem! Hopefully Jace's water woes are fading! Miss Lexa decided to show off a little for Cameron and took a quick dip in her diaper. All the official details of their arranged marriage are still being worked out but Mommy definitely got several good pictures for the wedding video!

So, on to the pictures!! Enjoy!

Jace and Grandpa riding the tractor around the lake.

Poor Reggie. Jace and Mommy thought it would be fun to try some of Lexa's bows on him!

Naked Lexa loving her time at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Mommy and Jace swimming at Julie's.

Lexa taking her turn.

Check out that bikini!

Daddy is hilarious!

Lexa and her handsome beau Cameron relaxing by the pool.

Lexa and Ashlan chilling on the floor. Isn't she the cutest little peanut.

Lexa and Cameron on a lunch date. Don't they look fabulous together?

Lexa figured she would make the first move and grabbed Cameron's hand. Or was it the other way around....

Ok, in this one Cameron is clearly yelling 'Cooties'!

Lexa and Grandma at the farm...after they finally found some shade!

Jace was playing the piano while Lexa and Cameron bonded.

Jace and Daddy during their good luck fishing venture (or maybe it was skill).

Jace and Mommy demonstrating proper bottle form to Lexa. Didn't work.

Grandpa and Jace at the KC's for chicken.

And that would be it!!
