Jace's Story--Part II

Jace's Story --Part 1 ended on Sunday night with the little boy named Jace feeling down in the dumps. He was having trouble keeping his food in his belly and was worrying his princess mother.
Forward to Tuesday........The little boy named Jace was feeling much, much better on this day. He was able to go back to daycare and live happily ever after.

Sidenote: The little boy named Jace feels pretty bad about spreading his nasty germs to his fairy grandmother. He hopes she feels better soon and is able to live happily ever after as well.

Jace's Story

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Jace. One Thursday night he was feeling great.

Jace was especially excited on this night because the next day he would be traveling to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

However, Thursday night, Jace fell ill.

Friday morning the little boy named Jace appeared better. "Onward to Grandma and Grandpa's", he exclaimed! The princess (his mother) agreed and off they went.
Upon arriving at Grandma and Grandpa's Jace didn't appear sick.

He played in the leaves,

Ate maidrites to his heart's content,

And even played with new toys from his fairy Grandmother.

However, little Jace's tummy had other things in mind and continued to nag him into the evening on Sunday.
(Again, illustrations withheld due to graphic content)

The princess mother hoped Monday would bring a happily ever after ending........

to be continued................

Nana and Great Grandma Fun!

Jace had a great weekend highlighted by a visit from Nana Cook and Great Grandma Austin. Of course he was showered with gifts as usual. He loved all of his new things! After going out to lunch Jace took Mommy, Daddy, Nana and Great Grandma to the pumpkin patch. Jace got to pick out his very own 'Jace sized' pumpkin and go on his first hayride!
Ready for his big day!

Jace at the pumpkin patch with Nana Cook and Great Grandma Austin.

Jace and Mommy in a sea of pumpkins!

Jace and Mommy have been having talks about kissing girls in your family or any boy with your mouth open. Mommy has explained that he needs to keep his mouth closed when kissing family. Of course defying Mommy as usual--this is his kiss to Nana Cook at the pumpkin patch!

Speaking of defying Mommy........this picture was taken after Jace tried to keep Mommy out of the bathroom on Saturday. He went in and shut the door. When she would try to open the door, Jace would push it closed again! Of course this was hilarious---to Jace! Ahhhh somebody help us! Anyway this is Jace's 'oops I did it again--am I in trouble?' look.

The instructions for the pumkin patch were that you could get as big of a pumpkin as you could carry. Jace and Daddy decided to model their 'Big Daddy' and 'Little Jacer' pumpkins.

And one final note. This is Jace keeping the faith. He continues to wear his Hawkeye gear and as you can see below--even continues to clap for the Hawkeyes. We know where he gets his persistence---Mommy has been a Cubs fan in waiting for a loooong time!

What a lucky Mommy!

What a lucky Mommy I am to have such a fantastic boy. Of course I do take much credit since I did grow him. :)

There is something new everyday with this little guy--I can hardly keep up! This week his fav's are crawling under things and into small spaces--of course this seems like a good idea most of the time but once in a while he will get freaked out if he feels trapped.

Jace LOVES to do patty cake. If you start saying it he will stop whatever he is doing and start clapping along. The 'roll it' part is the cutest because his little hands get all sorts of twisted up! He is pretty proud though! Jace also started giving Ozzy kisses. Not sure how much Ozzy is appreciating them yet! Jace usually sneaks up on the Oz Man and plants a big one on his behind! I'm not putting a picture because it is actually quite gross. Jace kisses with his mouth open and tongue protruding---I'm not sure exactly how much of Ozzy's hair Jace consumes with each kiss!

I must add that Mommy isn't the only lucky one---Jace is so lucky to have such a talented mohawk doer for a mommy!

AND such a talented mohawk doer for a doggy--We call this the OzHawk! One swipe of Ozzy's big old tongue and Jace is ready to go out the door!

It is so hard to believe but Jace's older cuz Maveric turns 2 today!! Jace was sad he couldn't make it to the party but Mommy thought it would have been a little too long of a drive. We hope he had a great day!! Jace and Maveric hit it off in Denver this summer--more trouble will surely follow in future family outings!!

Happy Birthday!

Homecoming '07

Jace's first UNI homecoming celebration ended up being awesome!! First and foremost the Panthers won!!!! Although we didn't get to attend the game in person--because it was sold out---we watched their victory on t.v. On Saturday morning Jace was able to attend the parade--and even tried his first cinnamon roll. All indications at this point lead us to believe he is going to take after Mommy in the sweets department! Jace loved the cinnamon roll and all the purple and gold in the parade! He could see everything coming on Daddy's shoulders.

Of course the view with Mommy was much closer to the ground!!

After the parade, Jace, Mommy, and Ozzy killed a little time in the stroller before the big game!!

We don't have any pictures DURING the game because it was just too stressful. However after such an exciting finish, Jace needed a relaxing bath to calm himself down. He got out of the bath and look what sprang up!! Curls everywhere!! He has never had this many before and they were way too cute!!

Sunday was one of the best parts of the whole weekend because Jace got to see Aunt Erin AND Grandma!!
He knew Grandma was coming so he was anxiously awaiting her arrival!

Then Ozzy caught on and started going nuts waiting for her too!! He definitely remembers that he gets a bone every time she comes!!
Where is she????

Nothing like a little play time with Grandma!

After Aunt Erin and Grandma left, Jace was pretty tuckered out but he did manage to get one more photo op in!

The weekend apparently took a lot out of Oz too!!

It's a good thing homecoming only happens once a year!!

What's New

This is what's new in Jace's world

Jace and Daddy have started a band-Jace plays the drums and Daddy....well Daddy IS the drums!

Jace has figured out how to make a HUGE mess multiple times in one day. He loves to unload absolutely everything from the microwave stand. As soon as we get it put back on, he starts over!!

Blah, Blah, this standing stuff is old news. BORING......... Now Jace has graduated to cruising along the furniture. He is becoming daredevilish enough to let go from time to time as well. Thank god for fluffy diapers to cushion his hiney!

Tomorrow is Purple Pride Day for UNI's homecoming--we will all be sporting our purple duds at work and daycare! Go Panthers!!

Jace's 1st 5k!

Jace participated in his first ever 5k this weekend!! He is going to be such a great little athlete--he placed 12th in the female 20-29 division!! Way to go Jace! Ok Mommy did most of the work---and it was work! The course had TONS of hills--add a 20 lb. baby and jogger stroller and 85 degrees and it was a killer! We made it though--our first family run--with Daddy finishing about 20 seconds ahead. Jace thought he was hot stuff and sported his first medal.

After the race Jace got to go watch his cousin Cory play soccer. His fabulous Aunts Kay and Debbie were there to cheer Cory on as well. Hmmm they must have been a bit boring......

And on Friday Jace had his 9 month checkup. Mommy made a liar out of herself telling Jace that there were no shots involved this time. He ended up getting his flu shot--as you can see he was pretty torn up about it........

And finally, Jace's 9 month statistics:
He weighed in at just a smidge under 20 lbs. placing him in the 30th percentile.
Jace continues to make Mommy proud standing a tall 28 3/4 inches--70th percentile!!!
Again, Mommy pays little attention to the head stat numbers themselves--it was noted however that Jace appears to be taking after Daddy with a slightly smaller head. Yes, Mommy and Daddy wear the same size hat!!

3/4 of a Year!

9 months have flown by and as of today Jace has been with us for 3/4 of a year!! Mommy thought she would be pushing it to celebrate his 3/4 birthday (1/2 birthdays take enough arm twisting) but still wanted to acknowledge it!! Jacer is such a little man with a huge personality! He is definitely strong willed, knowing what he wants at all times. He has a great sense of humor as well--him and Mommy sometimes just like to sit back and laugh for no good reason. It seems that if one starts laughing it makes the other one laugh even harder. Jace's interests at this time in his life include stroller rides, crawling, getting into trouble (he thinks the word 'no' is absolutely hilarious), eating, and tormenting his big brother Ozzy. Jace goes to the doctor for his 9 month checkup tomorrow so we will have stats soon. Until then, here's a few recent pics to tide you over!
