How do you make a spoiled boy even more spoiled?

UPDATE: Jacer indeed had a double ear infection. His tubes are still in place and doing their job however so it isn't affecting his hearing this time. Give him a couple shots of drugs and he'll be good-to-go by his party tomorrow. Oh yes, and little Mr. Eat like a bird is up to 26.2 lbs!

Have Aunt Denise and Uncle Chuck come into town! They came for a visit yesterday and Jace walked away with some major loot! The favorite has got to be his brand new, awesome, totally his size, Thomas the Train couch! It even folds out into a bed....which has already gotten plenty of use...more on that later. Anyway, Aunt Denise and Uncle Chuck were here all the way from sunny Florida and they got to spend most of the day with J Man. Besides shopping, Jace also went to lunch with them and played at home with new and old toys.
As was mentioned previously, Jace had an icky case of pink-eye on Monday so he stayed home. He went to daycare for 1/2 a day on Tuesday and of course stayed home Wednesday for his visit. Wednesday night, his eyes look much better but he now has the crud coming from his nose and....say it isn't so.........his ears. The sleeping champion of the world woke up 3 times before Lipstick Jungle was over which was a huge red flag for Mommy. She and Jace ended up 'camping out' on the living room floor so he could have instant hugs when he woke up in pain. As is typical with Jace's ear infections, he felt much better after a night of keeping Mommy on her toes. He went to daycare for 1/2 a day today and will be visiting the Dr. this afternoon. Mommy would be very, VERY shocked if it wasn't an ear infection. As long as little J Diddy is better for his party and trick or treating tomorrow!

Jace's eyes on Monday. Note that by Monday is was 'eyes'--plural!

Sweet Thomas PJ's. Another gift from Chuck and Denise.

It's James! Or should we say 'ames'!

Jace and Mommy's 'camping out' set-up. Actually Mommy kind of likes sleeping right next to little man. Let's just hope he doesn't think it's going to become a habit!

Party Man!

Jace was a party animal this weekend, staying up until 10 pm both Friday and Saturday nights! He went to Grandma and Grandpa F.'s and was such a great boy! He has no trouble sleeping there anymore and even added a nap for 2 hours on Saturday! Aunt Erin, Tom Thomas, and Kona were in town as well since it was Cousin Tracy's wedding. Jace has always liked Tom but this weekend was a different story. He loved, loved, LOVED Tom! He would have (and kind of did) chosen Tom over Mommy in a heartbeat. Aunt Erin is also high on Jace's list, as are Ama and Bampa.
The wedding was beautiful and the reception pretty crazy. Jace really wanted to dance but wasn't quite sure. He would go shake his booty 2 or 3 times and then run off the dance floor only to do the whole thing over again! Aunt Erin and Tom Thomas had a great time (see pics below) at the reception and a not-so-good time Sunday! Jace was pretty responsible at the reception, only indulging in 3 or 4 drinks of Mommy's Mt. Dew, but still woke up Sunday morning looking like he was in a 10 guy brawl! Mommy is pretty sure it's pink eye with all the goop and redness. Jace doesn't appear to be overly upset, although he occasionally points to it and says 'eye' kind of questioningly. Unfortunately, (note the sarcasm) this means Mommy will be forced to stay home from work tomorrow with a child that doesn't even really feel bad. Ahhh, the sacrifices!

Grandma gave Jace a Curious George doll when he arrived on Friday. Lets just say....Elmo has been replaced! At this particular time, Jace was in his transition phase. He's giving Elmo and George equal time (and Reggie). As time went on it was all about 'eorge'.

Jace can't come to Grandma and Grandpa's without hitting the KC's for some grub (and exercise)!

Jace and Tom sharing one of many laughs--Jace is in heaven!

Jace and Mommy grooving to a slow tune

Jace and Grandma at the wedding

Jace got to sit with Aunt Erin at the head table for a while. Let's just say...he thought he was The Man!

The beautiful bride--blame the lack of better pictures on Mommy's 2 megapixel camera!

Aunt Erin's self-portrait after 'having fun' at the reception. (Note to Aunt Erin: probably don't want to steal Mommy's camera and take a self portrait again....you never know where they'll end up!)

Daddy and Jace sharing a drink

Grandma, George, and Jace playing pat-a-cake. Jace thought this was hilarious and randomly started doing it several times on the way home. The way home in THE SNOW that is!!

Grandma F. learned her lesson last visit and made sure to have a nice supply of Jace's cookies on hand!

And finally, Jace's eye. Poor guy!

A little of this and a little of that.........

So still nothing is really new.....since Mommy's last post on Sunday anyway. Jace is going to daycare everyday this week....which doesn't bother him one bit. Actually, he probably prefers it this way. His favorite teacher is Missy or MeMe as most of the kids call her. Jace sits around now saying 'MeMe MeMe'. This weekend Jace gets to visit Grandma (ama) and Grandpa (bampa) and attend cousin Tracy's wedding. He is super excited because Aunt Erin, Tom Thomas, and Kona will also be there. 'Ama' is a little nervous about having 3 crazy dogs running around! There will definitely be some good pics......In theory anyway. Mommy is a little embarrassed to admit it but she is still using a 2 megapixel camera! Yep, the one she practically needs a forklift to get out of her purse because it is so honking big! She likes to keep with her 'way behind on technology' theme. Have you seen the t.v. in the living room? Sitting on a VCR no less! Ahhh, someday Mommy will catch up with the times. And finally, of course next week is the big day.....where Jace will debut his Halloween costume for their parade at school. One hint: We will call him J Diddy.

Mommy looks silly in Daddy's hat.....the scary part is that it fits perfectly.

Reading with Daddy (of course it is a Thomas book--is there any other kind?)

Sorting mail

And one to leave you with...........some strange dance move. Wonder where he learned that?

Nothing New.........

Nothing new in Jace's world. Mommy thought it best to fulfill Jace's followers' need for updates however. The following is her best attempt with limited new pics:

Early morning eats

This is called the 'Hawk Walk'--look at that strut!

Mommy surprised Jace with a new Thomas shirt...this was his best attempt at putting it on right away.
Hmmmm....is this right?

Something still doesn't feel right

Silly Mommy...you always have a camera in my face!

Jace at 21 Months.......................

Jace at 21 months is................

-a very happy boy. He is usually smiling or laughing at least 90% of the time.

-SO into Elmo and Thomas. He is working on all of the Thomas and Friends names--usually saying just 1 syllable of each.

-very happy when pizza is for dinner. This is definitely his favorite food right now....along with any sort of dessert.

-very loving.

-saying new things everyday.

-getting better about tantrums. He still has them but they have recently only been lasting a minute or less.

-an animal lover.

-into playing with sidewalk chalk and doing whatever Daddy does outside.

-so silly. He said 'bus' as 'bu' for several months. Mommy and Jace worked so hard on getting his /s/ on there only to have it turn into 'us'!

-between 25 and 26 pounds and around 33 inches tall.

-wearing mostly 2T clothes.

-really into cars and trucks.

-loving daycare and learning new things everyday. His newest is saying 'mine'. He picked it up at daycare but doesn't really get it. He just sits around playing with his toys saying 'mine, mine'. Must be an only child not to understand that one!

-one of the coolest people Mommy has ever met!

Purple 4 Life!

It's homecoming weekend at UNI and Jace is fully enjoying it! Friday was purple pride day (wear purple to work and school) so Jace and Mommy joined in the fun and broke our their purple duds. Saturday was the 'virtual parade'. Typically there is a regular parade but due to construction this year, the floats were parked and everybody walked through them. Jace loved hearing the UNI band and he got to stand right next to the basketball team--both men's and women's. After the parade, Jace and Mommy had to run over to Toys R Us because it was a playdate with Thomas day. Jace had a blast! He played with the Thomas sets for almost an hour (and still had to be pulled unwillingly away by Mommy). He also got a new Thomas book and some free trading cards and coloring sheets. Whew! Not surprisingly he fell asleep in the car!
And in daycare news............Jace is such a big boy! He is finishing up his very first fundraiser (they are raising money for a new playground), had the firetruck come and visit his class on Friday, and has school pictures next week!! Is he really not even 2 yet???
On to the pictures.....................

Jace is really into making people laugh. This is his latest and greatest attempt.

Jace and Mommy showing off their purple. And look at the pretty flowers Jace brought Mommy Friday afternoon. What a sweet boy!

Ready for some parade action!

Fall Fun!

Jace was able to enjoy some fall fun this weekend! First, he met Nana and Papa Cook to eat at Bluff Lake for Nana's birthday. He didn't eat much but ran around like a wild man. He was intrigued by his shadow until it got dark and then just ran aimlessly for over a half hour. He fell asleep before the car ever left the parking lot--and snored the whole way home! Even though Jace met for NANA'S birthday, somehow it turned into an occasion to spoil Jace.....again. Nana and Papa brought him a Veggie Tales movie and new Thomas Movie (that quite frankly, Mommy is a little scared to play for him.....what if he likes it as much as Thomas and the Magic Railroad!!). Papa also gave Jace an Iowa book--so cool!
Sunday, Jace met up with his friends Davon and Haley (and their Mommy and Daddy) and went to the pumpkin patch. He went through the corn maze, rode on a hay ride, peeked in the haunted house, saw some animals, and picked out a ginormous pumpkin! Mommy was hoping, hoping, hoping that there would be pumpkin pie and THERE WAS! She was nice and shared with Jace.......he picked the whipped cream off of each bite, ate it,and set the actual pie on the table! It's in the genes!

Wheeee!

What a sweetie....giving Mommy a bite of pie...without whipped cream...Jace got all of that!
