Christmas 2008....Take 2

Mommy knows that Christmas pictures are long overdue so she will not waste any time with her witty commentary. Onward to the pictures (in no particular order)!

Jace on Christmas morning before church

Aunt Erin gave Jace these super cool Thomas slippers. It took him a while to get up the nerve to actually put them on his feet. He couldn't understand why you would put a train on your tootsies.

Gotta love new Christmas p.j.'s!

Ready to go on Christmas Eve

Reading a new book

Opening a Christmas AND b-day present from Preston!

Playing with Cousin Emma

Playing with Emma again....do you see a pattern? Jace loves her!

Playing with Cousin Ali

Ozzy and Kona enjoying some holiday bonding....for 2 weeks!

Nice.

Jace and Ali's boyfriend. Of course he loved him as well!

Grandma F. tried to wipe Jace's nose one night and part of the kleenex got stuck in his nose. He had no clue why everyone was laughing but giggled along anyway.

Eat! Lovin' the maidrites!!

What a wonderful Christmas Jace had. He is still recovering and gearing up for the big 2 at the same time!

Christmas 2008

Christmas '08 was a great one for Jace! He enjoyed seeing family and friends and receiving a visit from the man in the red suit. Mommy has many, many pictures on her cameras (yes plural, because she finally has a NEW CAMERA!). She has too many pics in fact, to worry about them all tonight. For now, you are left with 2 videos evidencing Jace's unparalleled musical skills. The first video showcases his dancing abilities as he grooves to a book from Grandma F. The second video will give you a sampling of his vocal talent. He is singing the song 'Elmo's World'. For those who have not had the pleasure of hearing that song, it pretty much goes, 'La, La, La, Elmo's World'. Sometimes other characters such as Big Bird or Bert (referred to as Burp in this video--if you catch it) are substituted in. Please refrain from sending these videos to Dancing With the Stars, American Idol, or any kiddie talent shows. We're on it.

Go Panthers!

Jace got to watch the Panthers as they were victorious against South Dakota (sorry Aunt Rita) today. It actually wasn't that great of a game because they won by a ton and there were no students there due to Christmas Break. It was nice for Jace however, as he had plenty of room to stretch out, push Thomas, and cheer. Daddy even caught a t-shirt for Jace. Granted it will be at least 10 years before he can fit into the thing....but Jace was excited nonetheless.

Nothing like green pancakes to get your ready for a UNI win! You might ask, 'why not purple?' Well, because Mommy only had green food coloring left over from cookie decorating at school last week....and it's a Christmas pancake!

Jace got right into the game and cheered right along with everyone else. He clapped and yelled 'Yay!'

Of course the best part was sharing a jumbo popcorn with Daddy.

Note to self: Attend game every year during Christmas break. Jace had so much room to do his thing!

Winning takes a lot out of a guy!

And finally, this doesn't really apply to today's Panther theme but it's Mommy's blog darn it. Jace made Mommy and Daddy this beautiful creation for Christmas at daycare. Isn't it the coolest thing? They said Jace had trouble putting paint on his hands....this was no surprise to Mommy. Jace is a neat freak! He hates having anything on his hands or anything out of place. No idea where he got this.

SNOW DAY!!

Jace and Mommy had their first snow day of the year today. Although it about drove Mommy nuts being absolutely unable to get her car out (due to 10+ inches of snow), her and J had a great day. There are even pics to prove it!

Of course no day can really begin until you brush your teeth with your SINGING THOMAS TOOTHBRUSH!

Isn't garland meant for driving trains on?

Jace didn't even get a chance to take his gifts for his teachers and classroom to daycare today. It was pretty difficult to sit around with a present wrapped in Thomas paper all day and not open it!

Getting ready to try out his new snowpants....aren't they too cute?

Snow!

Over Thanksgiving it started to snow one day and Grandpa F. taught Jace how to catch it with his tongue. Now he does it whenever he sees snow!

Dancing With The Stars Destiny!

There isn't much to say about this clip other than Jace received a musical card in the mail from Aunt Rita. The rest is self-explanatory........

Jungle House Rocks!

Jace's time has been spent in pretty low-key ways as of late. With it being so cold the poor little dude hasn't played outside in WAY too long. When Jace and Mommy get stuck inside it's no good for anyone (right Daddy). Of course they find ways to entertain themselves: playing in boxes (yes Jace MADE Mommy crawl all the way inside a box the other day), trying on one another's clothes (there are pics of Jace but not Mommy in Jace's attire), singing (Jace no longer cries when Mommy belts out the ABC's), and of course eating (this one is mostly a Mommy activity). Jace did get out a little this weekend as he and Mommy went to their neighborhood Holiday party on Saturday. On Sunday, Jace, Mommy, and Daddy went to Mikey D's house for a Jungle House Playdate. Many of Mommy's friends from the Jungle House (4th floor Dancer at UNI) have had babies within a year or so of eachother so it's a great excuse to get together and let the little ones play! Jace had a great time playing with Mikey and Courtney. Let's just say they all enjoyed eachother's company but there were many 'mines' heard throughout the day. Of course they ALL learned it at daycare!

Jace in Mommy's slippers. The funny thing is that they don't really look that big on him!

Jace and Courtney 'pre-hug'.

Jace trying on Daddy's hat. If it looks a little strange it is because Thomas and Diesel are stuffed inside of it. Jace insisted they go in the hat before it went on his head.

Mikey D.'s hallway was a great source of entertainment for the kiddos.
Get Ready, Get Set.............

GO! Nothing better than running up and down a hallway!

That's all for now. Think warm....Jace is as his Mommy just purchased airline tickets to sunny Florida for summer vacation! Can't you just picture Jace with a sippy cup in his hand (with an umbrella of course) and his toes in the ocean?

The Sad Part Is.................

As much as Jace enjoyed this first Christmas cookie of the season.....it was his only one as Mommy ate the ENTIRE rest of the batch. In 1 1/2 days. With frosting. And sprinkles.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.......

Jace visited Santa yesterday in the hopes of convincing him to bring bunches of Thomas the train goodies for Christmas. Hmmmm, Mommy is thinking it probably worked.

While Jace patiently waited for his turn he decided to see what he would look like as a snowman.

Jace enjoyed talking to Santa but sitting on his lap was not in the cards. At this particular time, Jace was in escape mode. Not because he didn't like Santa but because there were so many new places to drive Thomas.

That Santa was a smart guy. Jace showed him Diesel only to discover Santa knew all of Thomas' friends names! It's lookin' good for Jace on Christmas morning!

Of course what is a visit to Santa without the $10.00 souvenir photo. Jace thought it was pretty funny when he saw the distraught look on his face as he tried to escape Santa's hold!

A few sidenote pics from the weekend:
Who me?

Still wearing the hat. And holding Thomas in one hand while he eats with the other. While Diesel lays waiting. Some things never change.

Ok, back to Christmas!
Mommy tried to hide Jace's Elmo ornament so it could hang on the tree. It took Jace all of 10 minutes to find it and remove it! Elmo was just not meant to hang on a tree!

And finally, Jace admiring Mommy's lovely work. He especially loves the 'wights' and the 'balls'.

Poop in the potty......er, bathtub!

That's right folks....Jace made it 23 months to the day without pooping in the bath. That is until tonight. He was having a swell time washing Thomas and Diesel as Mommy watched from the sidelines. Jace was happily splashing around when suddenly a foreign object floats by.........Jace reaches out his hand....AHHHHH! "It's a turd" screams Mommy!! Of course Jace was extremely frightened by this outburst and immediately starts screaming himself! In the midst of all of this screaming Daddy decides it is time to go fetch the Christmas tree from the shed. Nice. So Mommy scoops Jace out of the tub as he sobs uncontrollably. She tries to calm him down telling him that he is not in trouble. All Jace can say is 'potty, potty' in between sobs. He hugs Mommy for a second and then looks back in the tub only to start crying again and saying 'pooottttyy'. Hmmmm. Not sure if this is a good sign or a bad sign for potty training. In the end, the tub was cleaned, Jace was wiped down (and calmed down), and the tree was brought in. Nothing like a little poop in the tub to get Daddy moving!
Since Mommy figured you didn't want pictures of the ACTUAL event, she decided to share some others from this week. A teacher at one of the schools Mommy goes to gave her a box of clothes. Jace found the hats and decided he couldn't live without one on his head. It has seriously been a struggle to get him not to sleep in them at night. Why he won't wear one OUTSIDE is anyone's guess.

This is a common sight in Jace's household. He is constantly handing Mommy and Daddy things to hold for him. Especially before bed. You should see what's in bed with him tonight....Elmo, George (Curious that is), his B (his blanket), Thomas, Diesel, and a firetruck.

Dance!

Daddy has cool pix on his phone!

Crazy Man!

Jace's signature breakfast........Bananas with peanut butter. MMMMMM.

Turkey Day '08

Jace's Thanksgiving was filled with food, fun, family, and friends! He was at Grandma and Grandpa F's (now known as Ma and Pa) from Wednesday until Sunday celebrating and socializing. He was a super boy all weekend and proved what a social butterfly he has become. He was able to meet up with some old friends and make some new ones...and he loved every minute of it! Aunt Erin was in town as well which made Jace EXTREMELY happy. He has always liked her but this weekend took their relationship to a whole new level. They danced, spun in circles, screamed, and even did 'the horsey'. Jace will certainly miss her the next few weeks!
So on to the pictures...and there are plenty!

First, as indicated above, Jace really is becoming a social butterfly. He does not hesitate to play with any kid whether it be a boy or girl, big or small.
Jace and his cousin Emma

Hanging with Preston

Talking things over with Cade

Showing Sydney his Thomas book

Of course, no Thanksgiving weekend would be complete without story time with Pa!

Mommy and Erin drug Jace out on Friday morning to go shopping. Granted, it wasn't very early and 30 minutes+ was spent at Starbucks but Jace still did well. The only request he had was this pretty red headband from Target. Who is Mommy to deny Jace's manly security? Isn't he pretty?

What a great Ma---rolling around with Jace on the floor. Good thing Aunt Erin can adjust her!

Grandma gave Jace an Elmo ornament to take home and hang on his tree. Let's just say there is no way it is going on the tree! Jace wouldn't put the thing down even to suck his thumb--he stuck it under his chin to hold it so he could twirl Mommy's hair too!

Another stop on the Friday shopping spree---riding a BUS!

Jace got to attend the Lighted Christmas Parade on Friday night and he loved it!

Ok, he really did love it but Aunt Erin's warmth and the lack of a nap won out and he fell asleep

And continued to sleep....

And finally, 'The Horsey'!! Thanks to fabulous Aunt's Kay and Debbie for introducing him to it. He definitely says 'please' without prompting for the horsey!
