Run Like the Wind!

This weekend was full of summer fun in Jace and Lexa's town. Complete with music and food in the park, family visiting, swimming, and races.

To begin...the race. Mommy and Fabulous Aunt Kay once again kicked some butt in their 5k. On Sunday Mommy placed 2nd in her age division and 23rd overall out of 358 female runners. Fabulous Aunt Kay placed 3rd in her age division and 47th overall out of 358 females! Not too shabby!

Jace ran in the kid's race and if you ask him....he won. He participated in the 3-5 year old division and did an excellent job of running all the way to the finish. Mommy had been a little concerned he would start talking to his buddy and forget to run. Because of this, she told him to just put his head down and run. After seeing him demonstrating this, everyone was a little concerned with him obtaining a concussion so took back the part about putting his head down. In the end it all worked out and he was a happy camper with his finisher's medal!

The runners. Note the medals Mommy and Aunt Kay are sporting. Just another day....

At the finish line.

Showing Jace proper stretching technique.

Jacer gearing up before the race. Mommy thought he looked so cute with his little number on.

Jace and Gaige giving it all they got!

Proud finishers.

Eating some grub and listening to some tunes at the park.

Cousins. Don't you love Keegan's shirt? No idea where that came from.

He is such a stud.

Lexa and Keegan chillaxin'

Mommy almost forgot...there was a parade! A parade with a lot of cars. Just driving. As you can see Jace was thrilled.

Saturday night everyone went to the Fabulous Kay and Doug's hotel to swim and enjoy pizza and cake (for Uncle Doug's birthday).

Mommy's little fish. Lexa probably would actually prefer to jump in with nobody catching her.

Getting in with Fabulous Uncle Doug.

Practicing his skillzzzz.

The rest of the pictures are a little random but Mommy wanted to share. There is a new inflatable bounce house place that just opened near the mall. Mommy was ecstatic when she heard this and had to check it out right away. It was a hit!

And she's off!!

What else would you do in a bouncy house but wrestle?

Oh Missy and her cheesy smiles.

You just can't beat cheese like that so Mommy must now conclude this post.

Father's Day and then some.

Happy (belated) Father's Day to Daddy, Papa, Grandpa, and Grandpa Steve!! Jace and Lexa's Day was spent at Nana and Papa's house for a BBQ. It was a great time and they can't wait to go back. Pictures below.

The other pictures are of recent outings Jace and Lexa have been on. Mommy's main goal for the summer...Wear them out whenever possible!

The petting zoo was a destination one afternoon. Jace was so concerned with his sister getting bit. He spent most of his time pulling her hand away or telling her no.

Like in this picture....the llamas are just out of sight to the left. Granted, they were a little funny looking with their long necks and big teeth. However, Jacer couldn't take his eyes off of them for even a second to look at the camera. You never know when a llama is going to jump ship, come over the fence, and eat you. Don't tell Jace Mommy said that!

Lexa, on the other hand, is scared of little. This is her one afternoon in the park. She just throws herself down the slide. No regard for messing up her hair, getting her dress muddy, or say...breaking a leg!

This was a little out of character for Jace...climbing a wall. And he made it all the way to the top. He may have found his sport!

Another hobby of Jace's...photography. Particularly self portraits. Mommy is only showing you 3 because the other 905 are fairly similar.

He is cute though isn't he?

Another adventure was hitting up the strawberry farm..patch?...Mommy does not know proper wording here. Anyway, it was great. Lexa ate her weight (and then some) in strawberries. Thus saving Mommy $ as they were weighed and paid for later!

This girl was stuffing them in her mouth faster than Mommy could pick them. Finally, Lexa just started picking them herself so she could eat faster. There was no denying it either...her entire face and clothes were covered in red and dirt!

Mr. Jacer at the strawberry farm.

Jace and Lexa doing some picking. Actually if you look closely, you will notice that Jace is picking while Lexa is desperately trying to get around him to get at more that she could eat.

It's great having a big strong male around.

There were even animals at the strawberry farm! Don't worry, Jace was just as concerned with Lexa getting bit there too. There were after all, random chickens running around. You may remember he had a bit of a mishap with a chicken one year at the pumpkin patch....

A few pictures from Nana and Papa's house.....

Lexa found one of Papa's old dolls. His name is Boo. He isn't exactly your typical doll but Lexa was having a great time loving on him.

Jace and Lexa doing a little wrestling. It looks rough but she loves it just as much as he does.

Hanging out with Papa.

Getting a little WWF time in with Daddy.

And finally, a shot of Jace and his buddy Gaige during a picnic at the park last week. They are becoming such boys!

The End!

Jace's Latest and Greatest.

Mommy is giving Jace and Lexa a bath. Lexa is getting annoyed because she wants Mommy to paint her toenails. Mommy keeps repeating 'No Lexa. We can't paint your nails in the water'. Lexa proceeds to pitch a fit screaming and throwing toys.

Jace's reply?

'Ok, everyone just take a deep breath and stay calm. I'm going to personally take care of this.'

Mommy's reply?

STILL LAUGHING 2 days later!!

Oma-HA.

Unless you have heard Jace utter the word 'Omaha', the title means nothing to you. He has some weird way of stressing the final syllable and it sounds really funny. He doesn't do it all the time but when he does it makes Mommy giggle. And then she asks him to repeat it over and over.

As you may have guessed by now, Omaha was the destination last weekend. A little zoo, a little sun, and a smidge of swimming paired with eating and relaxing was a great way to begin summer vacation.

This is becoming an all too familiar pose for this one. The worst part is that she no longer just sits there holding it. Now she rambles a bit and then says, 'ha ha', laughing and talking.

Ah yes. Mommy's child completely. Eating whipped cream. With a pen.
Listen. Sometimes you just gotta make due with what you have.

At the chocolate store. You see a pattern right?

That Jace is a funny guy. Just ask Keegan.

Loving on their cousin.

Donning the swim suits. Please no thigh comments.

Mommy must include a short replay of how the swimming began. Jace (who is becoming more and more comfortable in the water) headed right down the steps toward the approximately 3.5 foot shallow end. Too bad he thought there was an extra step. He ended up under water, arms and legs flailing every which way. So a fully clothed Mommy hauls a$$ to jump in after him and pull him to the side. The good news is Jace decided to take the manly way out and after a short stint of crying ended up playing the whole thing up and acted like he meant to do it. Definitely a male. The other good news is that Mommy got some practice in saving lives in the water. She is gonna need it with Bean.

Doesn't he look good in Coach. Mommy is raising him right.

Uncle Tom will be opening his practice next week. Jace and Lexa received a private tour of the place.

And Daddy received some treatment. It's great having Dr.s in the family. Even if they can't find their way around a zoo. Or take their child's overalls off during each diaper change because they had no idea there were buttons at the bottom.

Obligatory entrance picture.

How many grown Daddy's does it take to maneuver around the Omaha zoo??? Not sure but likely more than 2!

Taking a break. She insisted on walking probably 1/2 of it. That is a lot on those short little legs.

Lookin' Good!

Being silly with Aunt Erin.

Posing. Just like Mommy told him to.

Erin was giving out free piggy back rides. Unfortunately Mommy was not included. There are a lot of hills at that zoo!

Mommy getting her behind beat at air hockey. Speaking of behind.....what is that permanent attachment Mommy has back there??

Jacer enjoying a game of 'hit the monster on the head'. The best part is he never realized the game wasn't working. Talk about cost efficient! Mommy never had to use another token and he had a grand time! And of course he won every game.

Giving a shout out to all of Chuck E's friends.

And that concludes another installment of Jace and Lexa's life of fun!
