My Kinda Party.

Jace's newest obsession....the song 'My Kinda Party' by Jason Aldean. He thinks it sounds like a song from Scooby Doo and wants to hear it constantly. Mommy has it on a cd in her ride so ANYTIME Jace is in the car going ANYWHERE he requests the song ON REPEAT. After hearing it so many times, Lexa has caught on and starts bopping her head and fist pumping now too (Please disregard that Jersey Shore reference...it is one of Mommy's guilty pleasures). As much as Mommy would love to show you all a video of this fist pumping and (slightly) off-key singing, she figured she better keep her eyes on the road and refrain from recording it. Instead she is treating you to these photo memories captured recently.

Random.

Random seems to be the theme of Mommy's posts lately. There just isn't much excitement going on when it is -21 ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURE outside. Yes, you read that right. Mommy did get a work delay on Friday so that made it oh so worth it. Sort of.

Anywho, like always Mommy was snapping away this week and thought she would share.

Something about the way this sounds reminds Mommy of a 'Friends' episode, but could this girl BE any closer to walking.....



She is getting so close. Mommy has mixed feelings. On one hand, think how much cuter her dresses and skirts will look in an upright position. On the flip side, this girl is gonna cause some trouble. Check it out.....

Bean found a blue M&M (from who knows when...) on the floor of the pantry. Pretty sure she enjoyed it.



Friday was p.j. day at Tricia's. Awww, aren't they so sweet....



Jace had his first swim lesson of the spring semester today. Let's just say it didn't go as smoothly as one may have hoped. 'One' being Mommy. He pitched a fit and tried to get out of it. After being given the option of going to his room or going to swim lessons he chose the latter. He cried at first and finally gave in and had an eeeny meeny amount of fun. Can you locate the giant booger on his cheek from crying??



Pancakes. Always the breakfast of champions.

Lately.

Not much going on as of late. Mommy has taken a few pictures however, that she thought you may enjoy.

Lexa is beginning to show some inevitable interest in Elmo. It's so fun to see her actually want to play with things (as opposed to just eating them).



This would be Jace showing Mommy what he would look like preggo. Don't ask. Iowa winters get to some more than others.

Jace and Daddy went to the Hawkeye basketball game the other night. Jace and Herky decided to cheese together for the camera.



Yes, this one is a climber. She will try to climb or scale any object including walls, her brother, and her dog.



And they said her brother had crazy hair.

Christmas With Nana and Papa!

Mommy is a smidge behind with this post but she wanted to share nonetheless.

As you may recall, Christmas Eve was 'snowed out' so Daddy, Mommy, Jace, and Lexa headed down to Nana and Papa's a week or so later to celebrate. Everyone had a great time and Jacer and Bean could have used a U-haul on the way home.





Jace's favorite part of the day was going to Build a Bear and and using a gift certificate from Nana and Papa to make his own bear reindeer. As much as everyone tried to talk Jace into the cute little puppy with droopy ears, he couldn't leave poor old Rudolph behind.



He thought it was super cool that he made Rudolph himself...and even put a heart inside.



Believe it or not, Mommy did not pose him this way. Perhaps he has had his picture taken a time or two though.



Every new friend needs a birth certificate. Lets just say the it was pretty easy to figure out a name for Jace's new buddy.



And just one more piece of photographic evidence that Lexa is turning herself around. She let Papa hold her even when Mommy was in clear view. She actually was really into Papa and constantly checking to see if he was watching her. Oh that Bean!



And that should catch Mommy up to her pictures on her camera. For a while anyway.....

Birthday Bash!

Jace had his 4th birthday bash today! He had many friends and family come to celebrate with him from near and far. Thanks to everyone for making his day so special!

In conclusion, this is how Bubba (and maybe Mommy) feels after having so many people at his house

Lexa at 10-Months......

It's that time again...Lexa's 'month b-day'. It's hard to believe in 2 short months she will be 1!

Lexa, at 10-months you:

*wear size 9 months in clothes on average. You can still wear some 6-month things and some 12-month things. You also wear a size 3 diaper and a size 2-3 shoe.

*you are doing much better interacting with others. You still prefer Mommy if she is in the room but even then you will allow others to (gasp) touch or even hold you at times.

*you are a crack-up. You love to dance, laugh, and are always on the go.

*you are challenging. Remember everything Mommy said about Jace being a rule follower...probably not going to be happening with you. You are much more of a daredevil and don't like to sit still for long. You are constantly getting into something whether it be Mommy finding you splashing in the potty (oops) or you dunking your head multiple times in the bath and finding it hilarious (after you cough for 5 minutes).

*you love to eat! You probably wouldn't even notice if you didn't nurse or drink a bottle all day. You eat anything and everything (besides PB and honey). You actually sometimes finish your brother's plate. Mommy does still nurse you in the morning and at night and you are now drinking just 1 bottle during the day.

*your sleeping habits are so-so. You go to bed like a champ and go down for naps awesome. During the night however, you would prefer to have Mommy come and play for a while. She has done the 'cry it out' thing but you are persistent!

*you are getting more into playing with toys...good thing since you got quite a bit of loot at Christmas. One of your favorite new toys was from Grandma Rosie...Sing a ma jigs. They harmonize in making the sound 'ahhhh'. You think it is hilarious and sing right along with them.

*you have caught on very quickly to baby sign and are able to sign several things...especially at mealtime!

*you crawl like a crazy woman, pull yourself up and cruise along furniture, and have started going up stairs.

*you are Mommy's little spark plug. You can melt a heart very quickly with your big eyes and smile but nobody is ever going to walk all over you. It is certain life will never be boring with you around!
