It's beginning to look a lot like....Summertime!!

Jace and Lexa have been soaking up the warm weather and sun lately....and loving every minute of it.



You know it's almost summertime when Jace has his last day of daycare.

On Saturday, Mommy, Jace, and Lexa made a trip to Des Moines to meet up with Aunt Erin, and Karla and Mikey. A trip to the zoo was the order of the day. Jacer's favorite part was meeting Buddy from the show Dinosaur Train on PBS. He couldn't get over how big Buddy was....you will see in the picture he was much bigger than Jace and on the show they live in a nest. Leave it to Jace to be so concerned with that. Jace's biggest disappointment of the day was that there were no elephants at the zoo. Mommy's goal for the summer is to find a zoo with elephants for little man!

This morning, Mommy was pondering what to do, as the public pool is a little tricky with Lexa not being able to wear sunscreen for another 3 months! Being the brilliant Mommy that she is, she decided to let Jace pick out a kiddie pool for the backyard. He chose a shark one and was loving it...after he spent 10 minutes arguing with Mommy over why he needed to take off his shirt AND shoes. Yes, the horror.

Is it weird that Jace automatically knows to pose for a picture during each activity?





Ozzy is pretty fond of the warm weather himself!



Lexa was feeling a smidge uncomfortable with all the extra milk she's been drinking lately so she stuck to her one piece. She retired to bed a little early tonight thus missing a feeding so she may be ready to don the bikini tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Wowza....

Jacer had a busy day yesterday! Tons of playing outside and a few chores as well.

First, Jace and Lexa had a lunch playdate at the park with their buddies Gaige and Carlie. Lexa had on her grumpy pants apparently but the rest of the crew had fun. Actually her little lower lip sticking out nearly the entire time did make for some good pics!

This picture just has to make you laugh.

After lunch, Jace had to hurry home and whip up some cookies for his friends at daycare. Today was his last day for a while (sniff, sniff). Mommy hasn't decided exactly how long but probably at least a month or two. Anyway, Jacer was pumped to bring treats for his last day!



Next, it was time to wash his truck. A boy with hair that good can't drive around in a dirty truck people.



Finally, Jace ended the day with more playing! He went over to his friend Lauren's and played with her and his favorite teacher Tricia. Life doesn't get much better when you don't even have to go to daycare to play with your favorite friends and teachers!

Too funny right?!?!

We're Back!!

The roofers are still working (thanks to a 95 degree day in May!!) but it doesn't seem to be bothering the kiddos too much. Ozzy, on the other hand, is a little nervous. Yep, big 'ol mean Bubba doesn't like the banging!

The trip to Grandma and Grandpa's was a success! Lexa had her dress 'fitting' (her baptism dress is being made out of Mommy's wedding dress) and Jace had plenty of play time with Grandma and Grandpa. He also was able to sneak away for a date night at the movies with Mommy and see Shrek.

Mommy took tons of pictures as usual, so without further ado....here they are in no particular order.

Bedtime...it actually wasn't too bad. A few protests by Jacer and one night of Mommy, Jace, AND Lexa in a twin bed....other than that it was a breeze!

For those of you wondering, Grandma is a little, shall we say, 'technologically disabled'. Mommy went step by step over how to get to the blog this weekend. Grandma's assignment is to get on the internet, find the blog, read it, and get back to Mommy with her secret code word.

Jace, Lexa, and Mommy are heading to Grandma and Grandpa's tomorrow. It began as a short trip to pick up Lexa's baptism dress but may be extended as the new roof is going to be put on in the coming days. Mommy is pretty sure that ripping, hammering, and banging are not going to mix well with a 2-month old. At any rate, as soon as the trio returns, you will be rewarded with pictures. For now, these will have to tide you over!

Jace always wants to hold Lexa and have his picture taken. The trouble is, he sometimes forgets she is there and she tips over. Case in point.



Mommy had to post a picture of Lexa in her outfit today. She is in love with it. She literally spent 3/4 of her day staring down at it.
