Before Mommy rambles on about Jace's Memorial Day weekend, let her point your attention to what she came home to last week. It was on the weekly 'Jace and Daddy Day' that Mommy walked into the house after work only to find this:
Yes, it is as it appears. Daddy tattooed Jacer (in permanent marker) on his arm. Jace is always admiring Daddy's so why not get one of his own. Although it was very sweet (since it said MommI) Mommy sincerely hopes any future tattoos are in the very distant future.
Ahem. Now back to the weekend at hand. Memorial Day is one of the busiest of the whole year for Daddy so Jace and Mommy decided to go solo down to Grandma and Grandpa F.'s. Aunt Erin and Kona also made the trip, which always makes Jace's day.
The trip was highlighted by the welcoming of Fab. Aunt Kay's new puppy, Chuck. Just hearing his name makes one smile. Another 'welcome to the crazy family' moment happened on Sunday when Jace got to meet Baby Courtney (Emma and Abby's new sister)at a family barbeque. Of course Mommy has the entire thing documented on her camera so rather than attempting to be witty for another paragraph or two, she will just share the pictures.
Jace running with Chuck.
Showing Chuck how to feed the fish in Tay's pond.
Hanging out with Sydney just after Chuck arrived home. (You will notice that Mommy is using Chuck's name as many times as possible. This makes her happy because Chuck is such a cool name for a puppy. Chuck.)
Chuck, striking a pose.
Jace blowing bubbles with Emma
What a Grandma, What a Grandma, What a Mighty Good Grandma!
Grandma and Jace attempting the curly slide....
....and successfully making it to the bottom!
Jace and Abby playing on the jungle gym. Jace can still be a chicken sometimes so it was funny to overhear their conversation. They would both stand at the top of the slide and Abby would ask Jace if she should go first. Jace would say yes and watch her slide down. This is where he chickens out. He would yell. C'mon up Abby'! Poor Abby would run back up to the top and the whole thing would start over again.
Mommy's 'What was I thinking' purchase. On Saturday, she bought Jace a drum set. Not much more to say other than 'What was she thinking'....and that Grandma plays a mean tamborine while Jace beats the drum and sings the ABC's.
You may notice that Jace's hair continues to Fro. Mommy is nearing the end of her acceptance on this hair-do. The hair isn't showing any signs of laying flat and it's getting hotter outside. Listen up hair: You have 7-10 days to get control of yourself or you're getting hacked.

Thanks for allowing Chuck to be part of your blog. He loves seeing his picture and knowing that others are admiring it as well. For the record-Chuck is wonderful.
