To Fro or Not To Fro......

....that is the question....Jace needs your help with! You see, it has been another 4-5 weeks since Jace's last haircut, which can mean only one thing....FRO! Jace's hair is again out of control. There has been much discussion in Jace's house about whether to get the usual cut or let it fro for a bit longer. Mommy is slightly curious as to whether another inch or two will actually allow his hair to lay flat or whether it will give just him another inch or two of height. Help! Voting will close Monday night (and Mommy promises to do as the majority feel fit). Vote now!

More Jaceisms!

Can you contain yourselves? More Jaceisms? Please just go with it...Mommy isn't even sure they are that funny when you hear them for the first time in the written form. They crack her up hysterically though in person. So, just go with it.

Scene: Mommy and Jace downstairs getting clothes out of the closet for MommI. Jace leans on the humidifier and puts his head in his hands. He looks at Mommy with a horribly sad expression and says....

Jace: 'I happy.'
Mommy: 'Jace, I think you mean you are sad. You are NOT happy.'
Jace: 'No, MommI, I happy.'



Keep in mind he says the whole thing with a huge sigh. Mommy thinks he is confused because when he has...hmmm,shall we say...trouble behaving sometimes, Mommy tells him that she is not happy. Apparently, he isn't hearing the not. This could shed some light on why Mommy's approach isn't working!

Scene: First you must have some background. Many of you know the difficulties Mr. former stellar sleeper has been having. That is for another post. Just know that Jace has not exactly been a stellar sleeper lately. So, last night Mommy is once again trying everything she can think of to get Jace to JUST CLOSE HIS EYES AND GO TO SLEEP!! Nothing was working, so she decided to sing him a little tune. Very quietly and gently (using her very best vocal abilities of course) MommI starts singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

Mommy: 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, How I wonder......(interruption from a giggling Jace)
Jace: 'Hee, Hee, Hee.'
Mommy:'Jace this isn't funny. Mommy's singing isn't funny. Go to sleep!'

Jace lays his head back down for a few seconds then sits back up and smiles.

Jace: 'More?'
Mommy:'More what?'
Jace: 'More Star?' (he says this with a huge smile)
Mommy:'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.....this time she gets through the whole thing (with Jace silently laughing). At the end, Jace sits straight up and starts clapping profusely.
This makes Mommy laugh, which in turn makes Jace laugh harder. Soon, MommI has tears running down her face and Jace is in absolutely no sort of quiet, almost to sleep mood. Note to Mommy: No more singing to relax the little stinker!

Movie Star Jace

Mommy had to share a couple of recent videos of Jace that are too funny. The first is as he is getting done making a Mother's Day picture for Great Grandma Rosie. He says her name and it turns Mommy to mush because it is so cute. The 2nd video is Mommy and Jace's audition tape for American Idol. Let them know, but they think their chances are good. Of course if that doesn't work out there's always Dancing With The Stars!

Mom's Day '09

Mother's Day 2009 was a perfect 10! The day started with a nice leisurely run for MommI followed by Starbucks.

Ok, obviously this isn't Mommy but isn't it hilarious how Jace tries to be just like his Daddy!



Mommy then arrived home and was greeted by Jace with presents.


Seriously folks, it doesn't get much better!

The day ended on a perfect note with little Miss Amiya coming into the world. (Mommy sincerely hopes she spelled that right since she has asked how to spell it 5 million times!)

Run Like a Mother!

Fabulous Aunt Kay and MommI ran in the 4-mile Run Like a Mother race today which benefited the Iowa Women's Foundation. They of course, did awesome, and even were compelled to subtract several seconds from their times due to getting stuck behind some extremely slow people at first. In the end, they both finished in respectable times (near the top of their age divisions but just out of reach of awards) and were greeted by Grandma F. and Jace with flowers.







It was later discovered what Grandma and Jacer were doing while MommI and Kay ran.



Aunt Tay and Grandma actually arrived Friday night, along with Aunt Erin earlier in the day. It was a slumber party that included gifts for Jace (Grandma brought him a new tractor and Tay brought him an M&M cup all the way from Vegas!) and $30 chocolate.



Poor Aunt Erin was a little under the weather and although it was initially thought to be the brown bottle flu (following the Kenny Chesney concert Thurs. night) it was later discovered that she was actually sick. She ended up leaving early which was a huge disappointment to Jace. He loves his Er. In the end, he recovered and was up to his usual mischief.

That would be a guilty, 'I'm caught' look!

Scene: Jace trying to move Ozzy off the couch as he does most days. During this particular interaction his voice is whiny but firm...which makes his error even funnier. He thinks he is being big and bad getting Ozzy to move when really he sounds hilarious.
