A Peach for a Peach

What's better on a sweltering August afternoon than your first bite of juicy peach.

Well, maybe actually biting it would be better...

But today, Mommy's little peach is content with just tasting it in her fresh food feeder.

Kansas City Dos!

The 2nd KC trip of the summer (for Lexa and Mommy anyway) was a success! Plenty of fun (especially for Jace), relaxing, and good food. Of course the company was not too bad either!

A bigger car was needed to accommodate 2 carseats and a 90 lb dog. Taking the Jeep was a MUCH better idea and gave Mommy's (however short they may be) legs just a smidge more room.

Of course Mommy can never resist cute car pics!

Munchies!

Thumbs up!

Little Miss enjoying the ride

Jace and his Mama!

The first order of duty upon arrival, was taking Jacer to the mall. When Mommy and Grandma were visiting a few weeks ago they spotted this jumping, bungy type thing they knew Jace would love. They were right on the mark. He was so silly, even doing the splits in the air!

Strapped in and ready to go....

Check out that air! If Mommy were one to brag she would point out how much higher Jace is getting than the girl next to him...but since she doesn't brag....

Go Jacer!

Jace got to meet up with Preston and Ashten...a couple of buddies he rarely sees these days. They hadn't even met Lexa yet! Anyway, it was a fun day of visiting the dinosaur exhibit and a model railroad museum.

Jace and Daddy in front of a dino!

Jace and Ashten checking out Thomas on the model railroads

Jace and Ashten digging for fossils....silly Mommy didn't get any pics with Preston but he was right in the mix as well.

Aaaand, this would be Jace scaring the dinosaurs. Yeah.

Check out how tall they are! Ok, not really but they are still super awesome.

Mommy was just ecstatic to see Lexa cross that 2 ft. mark!

Checking out all those awesome things makes a person work up an appetite! Mommy got her all time favorite...Brio! She doesn't have any photographic proof because she was busy EATING! She does however, have visual memories of eating cupcakes with her best little man.

Cheers! Cheers to a PB & J cupcake for Mommy...the lover of peanut butter herself! Put it in or on anything and she's happy...but a cupcake? Bliss!

The sleeping situation at Erin and Tom's was great. Mommy and Daddy had the bed in the spare room. Lexa had her pack and play. Jace had a sleeping bag on the floor. So what is wrong with this picture??

Once again, everyone ended up in the same bed. To be fair, it wasn't until almost 7 am. However, check out the eeeny weeny space left for Mommy!

Sunday was another scorcher so everyone decided to hit the pool.

Lexa was looking smashing in her suit and hat.

Jace does love him some Aunt Erin time

It's sad when your Uncle has to teach you to swim because all your Mommy can do is doggie paddle...no matter how skillful that doggie paddle may be.

Jace and Mommy soaking up some sun

Ah that Aunt Erin is a funny one...a good one to end on!

5-Months!

The time is going by too quickly! Little Miss is 5-months old today! Seems like just yesterday the little peanette was kneeing Mommy in the bladder.

Lexa, at 5-Months you:

-are extremely attached to Mommy. At times you will let others hold you or (gasp) touch you but not for long. You are beginning to do better with Daddy (thank goodness since he will be caring for you on Wednesdays).

-you are doing better with the bottle. You still don't get much out of it but are not fighting it. It seems you just don't quite get it. You chew, suck a little, then chew. Anyway, it's progress.

-you still weigh 14 lbs. Mommy thinks you are about 24 1/2 inches or so long.

-you are wearing mostly 6 month clothes and still a size 2 diaper.

-you can actually fit in to a couple of pairs of shoes! Way to go little feet!

-you are a mover and shaker! You would love to be able to run across the room! You can sit alone using your hands for balance. You can sit upright for moments at a time but usually topple over pretty quickly.

-you roll easily and actually rolled across the room a few weeks ago. Mommy set you down by the chair and came back a few minutes later to find you by the tv. Great.

-you still love to babble.

-Jace is your bestest, bestest friend. He still adores you although he has been a littler perturbed several times when you knocked over his milk or dumped his bowl.

-you LOVE eating off a spoon. Cereal, cooked carrots, mashed sweet potatoes, mashed avocado, and mashed banana are where you are at.

-you are becoming a champion sleeper! It took you a little while but you are now sleeping 10-12 hours at night consistently. You also are a great napper, typically taking 2 a day. Yesterday you even napped for 3 1/2 hours in the afternoon!

-you are such a sweet little thing. You smile all the time and love to giggle. If only you could do these things without Mommy there!

More Pictures!

Mommy is on a blogging roll!! Enjoy it now because she goes back to work very soon.

Apparently this week is National Breastfeeding Week. Gaige and Carlie came over this morning to play trains (the boys) and roll around on the floor and spit up (the girls). While they were here they informed Mommy of this week and an event going on at the hospital. So after lunch everyone loaded up and decided to enjoy the festivities. It included cake and plenty of room to run and roll around so there was a little something for everyone (yes, the cake was for Mommy).

Jacer and Gaige playing trains...aren't they the cutest?

Carlie...possibly getting ready to smoosh her friend. She has about 4 lbs. on her!

Ah yes, the boy with the sweet tooth.

Anyway, Mommy already felt a little bad for crashing this party (since she didn't even give birth there) and then she went and won a door prize. It was too funny though!!

It's a size 18 months so Mommy is currently trying to shrink it in the wash. Hopefully it doesn't go down to a newborn size or something. Mommy isn't the most domestic person in the world....as if you hadn't already picked up on that.

A few other cutie patootie pics

Little stink man

As they say, Sleep begets sleep. So true. Lexa had went to bed at 7 pm and slept until 8 am. This picture was taken at naptime at 9:30 am!!!

Mommy got out the Johnny Jumper and Lexa loved it. Well, except for the part where Jace turned her so many times the rope was twisted. She definitely did not enjoy flying around in circles when Jace let go and the rope UNtwisted.

Cheese!

Check out Lexa's bow. Doesn't she look like a little present?

And last but not least, Lexa's first doll. Grandma thought it was just not right that she did not have a doll yet and wasted no time fixing that problem.

KC!

Mommy figured she should share pictures from Kansas City a few weekends ago. Especially since she and the family are headed down again this weekend. Fun, Fun!!

Ah Lexa. A woman after Mommy's heart...loving the shopping. Mommy foresees many more shopping trips in the future!

Doesn't she look smooth in shades?

Lexa and Mommy somewhere...at this point Mommy can't really remember where but her best guess says they were either eating or shopping.

One of Aunt Erin's friends works at this cupcake shop on the Plaza. Yummo! Is there anything better than a NUTELLA CUPCAKE??

Lexa, checking things out with Grandma and Erin....this would be before Grandma set off Erin's security alarm, thus causing the cops to come pounding at the door at 11:30 pm. Don't worry Grandma, it could happen to anyone (cough, cough).

And finally, Lexa eating her first bite of avocado. She has since had many more bites. She has also recently tried mashed sweet potato and banana.

Happy Anniversary To Mommy's Best Guy....

Actually, Mommy has 2 best guys but this refers to her best guy over the age of 3!

Yesterday was Mommy and Daddy's 6th anniversary!! Holy Cow how time flies. No doubt it's a perfect match. Proof below......

Yup, doesn't get much more perfect than that!

A big thankyou to Grandma for making the drive to watch the hooligans while Mommy and Daddy had a quiet night out. Unfortunately Mommy and Daddy's tattoo night was a bust but may still happen in the near future. Stay tuned for pics as that will no doubt be an entertaining occasion!
