Road Trip and Cereal

Yesterday was a big day. First, Jace and Lexa schemed with their friends Gaige and Carlie to take a roadtrip to a huge playstation. It proved to be worth the drive as Jace and Gaige wore themselves out jumping, sliding, and climbing. Carlie and Lexa were also pooped (at times literally) after all the laying around and eating they did.

The Mommies were also quite happy with the trip as the boys played independently and there was eating and shopping involved. See for yourself!

Playing in the balls. Mommy only got pelted about 400 times.

Weeeeeeeee!!!

All this playing will wear a guy out!

The girls doing what they do best...chilling.

4 sleeping children on the way home. Heaven.

Upon returning home there was the issue of supper. Yeah, eating it is always fun but the preparation part gets Mommy every time. Anywho, she worked some magic and decided to let Lexa in on the action too.

Ordinarily, Mommy and Daddy wouldn't have introduced cereal this early but, as you have probably guessed, Lexa is having issues with only wanting food from certain body parts. This isn't too much of a problem now but in a month it is going to get ugly at daycare if she can't eat all day! She is also extremely interested when others are eating real food....like almost to an obsessive point...of course she is Mommy's child. So Mommy thought, why not see how she does with a little bite of her own.

The pictures will tell it all!

1st bite......

Hmmmmm???......

Just maybe........

Ahhhh. One fat and happy girl!

Yeah, she loved it. Score one for Mommy.

Fun, Fun, and more FUN!

So yeah, Jace and Lexa have not been short on fun lately. Even if they are sitting at home they entertain eachother.

Did anyone know that Jace was the funniest person to ever live? Just ask Lexa!

No seriously, he's hilarious!!

Check out Jace's shades and shirt.

Seriously Daddy...sending Mommy into Von Mauer can be very dangerous. But Daddy's Little Wingman just had to have this shirt!

Jace and Lexa had the chance to meet up with Davon, Haley, and Amiya at Chuck E. Cheese the other night.

Amiya's Mommy was a little wild on the horse....too bad Mommy missed the picture of her (Amiya's Mommy that is) riding solo!

Ok, she wasn't the only Mommy to partake in the kiddie rides....

Lexa and Amiya enjoying a ride together....ok at least Amiya enjoyed it.

You all know how competitive Mommy is right?? No way was she gonna just let Jace win!! Although he kind of forfeited when he discovered how fun it was just to drop the pucks in his own goal.

Friday night was "Movies Under the Moon" in a local park. Madagascar 2 was the flick of the night and Jace enjoyed every minute.

He really was there for more than just the popcorn this time...

Jacer got his new helmet a while back but he also has knee pads to match...doesn't he look dangerous???

You didn't think Mommy would go an entire post without a picture of Lexa all dolled up did you??

Lexa's 4-Month Update

Ok, so this post was supposed to be devoted to Lexa and her glorious 4 months of life. However, her brother must have seen an owl because he has been a hoot, hoot, HOOT today.

This morning Mommy and Jacer were talking about going to the Dr. and how he was going to help Lexa feel better. So he says, "Mommy, I don't like the number 10".
Ok, he has Mommy's attention. "Why?" she asks. Jace says,"It just makes me nervous."
Mommy has no idea where that came from or what he was talking about but she about fell off her chair.

Miss Lexa in all her 4-Month glory!

Lexa, at 4-months you:

-love to roll from your back to your belly. You do it almost every time Mommy lays you down. Although you hate it at times, it has done wonders for tummy time.

-wear a size 2 diaper. Most of your clothes are 6 months although you still have many 3-6 months as well. You can also still wear plenty of your 0-3 month dresses....love that about dresses!

-are a smidge under 14 lbs. Mommy would have actually guessed higher but then you were measured. You are 23 3/4 inches long! Such a little shorty. So stuffing 14 lbs. into that short little frame is what is causing all those rolls!

-are a TOTAL Mama's girl right now. Eek, daycare is going to be rough!

-still don't like that bottle but have allowed a few drops to trickle down your throat lately. Mommy has tried everything from various types of bottles and nipples to sippy cups. She even tried putting formula in there to totally separate it from nursing. Eek, daycare is going to be rough....Mommy is sensing a pattern?!?

-sleep 12 hours at night (8 pm-8am)...if you wake up once around 4 or 5 to eat. There are nights you sleep through but then you are typically up and ready to go around 6 or 6:30.

-take 3 naps pretty consistently throughout the day for about an hour each.

-refuse to be held like a baby and love to have people hold you standing up. You can bear all of your weight and think you're are the coolest when you do it.

-still love Jace. It is very obvious you are going to copy everything he does....which may or may not be a good thing!

-love to hear your own voice. Babble, Babble, Babble. Mostly just vowels with a few nnn's and raspberries thrown in here and there!

-are Mommy and Daddy's little princess!!

******************************

Check out how much Lexa has changed from 1-month to 4!!

Feeling better after her shots.

Check out those bandaids!

Ok, and just a hair more (no pun intended) from Jace.

As soon as Jace walks in the room at the Dr.'s office he asks the nurse if she is gonna fix his sister. Mommy explained that they were just going to check and make sure she was growing and healthy. Jace then reminded Mommy that he had already been fixed! Oh Jacer!

As Lexa is laying on the table (screaming her head off Mommy might add) getting examined Jace comes over and using his highest pitch says, "It's ok sweetie. Oh Lexa, you are fine. I'm right here".

Ahh, Lexa quite the brother you have!

Random Tidbits

Lots of rain = BORING! Even the 4th of July festivities were canceled! Big bummer!
Anyway, Mommy and crew have been trying to stay busy doing indoor activities like the library and mall play area. Miss Lexa also is 4-months old today!! Holy Cow! More on that tomorrow after her Dr. appointment.

For now, here are a few random recent pics.

Dispelling energy in the house

Lexa and Mommy posing...actually Lexa looks a little more shocked than anything. That in itself is shocking. One would think she would be used to the camera flash by now!

Ice Cream at the mall on a rainy day!

Hello There World!

Jace: The new daredevil

Guess who gave her this bib?

Jace was pretending to be a baby

Mama is funny!!

Mommy's Baby's 1/2 birthday!

Ok, he isn't a baby anymore. In fact, he is officially 3 1/2 as of today! Happy 1/2 Birthday Jacer. Lucky for you, your Mommy NEVER forgets a 1/2 birthday.

Jace has been on a roll with his 1-liners lately so Mommy felt this was the perfect opportunity to share some of them. And update on Jace himself!

Jace, at 3 1/2 you:

-are the best big brother ever!! Mommy could never have asked for anything more. You love your sister so much and are always concerned with where she is and how she is doing. She also adores you. Mommy would love to bottle up that look she gets on her face when she looks at you like you are the coolest person on the planet (which you kind of are).

-are still a super picky eater. In fact, in the last 5 days you have literally gagged on 3-4 meals. NO, they weren't all cooked by Mommy.

-are very sensitive. You do not like to be told no and get very upset by it. You typically get your feelings hurt and then act out because of it.

-are doing so much better with the water. You will actually sit in the tub now and are great at the pool. You even want to go down the big water slide but are too short!

-are still sleeping on your air mattress. Yeah, weird but you like it so whatever.

-are still in to Thomas a little. You also LOVE the movie Cars and all the characters. Scooby Doo is another favorite.

-still love puzzles, playdoh, coloring, and playing outside.

-are loving being at home with Mommy but Mommy is pretty sure you will be glad to get back with all your friends at daycare too.

Ok, now to the recent Jaceisms:

First, a little background. Jace is very concerned with Lexa not having teeth. He has been worried since day 1. As Mommy has mentioned several times, he is very logical. So logical Jace thinks, hmmmm, she has arms, legs, toes, etc. Just no teeth!
Just about every day he checks to see if they have grown (he did try to get Mommy to get her some at the store) and asks when they are coming. Anyway, a recent conversation with Aunt Erin went like this:

Erin: So Jace, when is Lexa getting teeth?

Jace: At 2:45

After story hour at the library on Friday, Mommy tells Jace that she got some chicken nuggets (his fav.) for lunch.

Jace: Oh Mommy, that was so sweet!

Mommy and Jace talking about Lexa.

Jace: Lexa is so pretty. And I'm handsome. And Daddy is handsome.

Mommy: (leading him to a compliment) And what is Mommy??

Jace: Hmmmm. You are Cari!

Love ya buddy!

Jace and Lexa had a playdate at the park with a few friends on Monday. It is so nice because the boys are all right around 3 and each has a little sister under 1.
