A lil' update

Ok, not much of an update but it's better than nothing! Your welcome.

This is Jace. Eating a hot pink cupcake. Because he can.

And this is Lexa. Wearing some strange glasses. And eating a sandwich. Because she can.
Jace and Lexa are getting new carpet in their house so the eating arrangements have been somewhat...lax. Actually Mommy takes some weird kind of joy in watching a chip get smooshed deep into the carpet....and smiling about it.

Also, Jacer is inches from getting his yellow belt in karate. It could be as early as tomorrow night. Check back!

Princess Lexa

Isn't she sweet? In all honesty, Mommy had to bribe her with cookies to put this on. Not so sweet.

In other news....Mommy is aware that she has been seriously slacking with the 1 picture posts. She is committed to remedying this situation. Check back very soon for a post full of picture glory!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Jace and Lexa spent the day with Grandma for her birthday. Lunch at Red Lobster, snacks at Starbucks, and a little playtime at the mall. Great day...Happy 41st Grandma!!!

Awwww.

Fabulous Aunt Kay sent Jace and Lexa a really cool book by Mr. Rogers about losing a pet. Mommy read it the first time and now Jace reads it. Aren't they so sweet reading together peacefully?

If this post seems short, allow Mommy to explain. She had a super cool video of Jace doing his kata for his yellow belt in karate. He did a great job and she had the whole thing ready to post...when she watched it again she sees Jace's little sister run in the corner of the camera...with her bare little bum hanging out. Needless to say, Mommy will make a new video. Check back for it!

Race Day!

Jace and Mommy participated in the Shamrock Shuffle on Saturday. The Shamrock Shuffle is a 5k and kid's run to benefit Jace's school.

Before the race. Jace was umm...intense.

Mommy finishing. Oh yeah! 23:24 official time. Apparently someone moved the turn around cone on the trail so it ended up being 2.9 instead of 3.1. Still a pretty good run. And Mommy's Garmin said her average pace was 7:57...anything under 8 minutes is A-ok!

Jace finishing! He was in the 5-7 division and finished 5th...according to him. Mommy isn't exactly sure on the place but he was in the front of the pack.

He was so excited! Looks like running may be added to his current addictions consisting of karate and basketball.
That be it! Til next time!

Ozzy, Oz, Oz-man, Bubba, Bub, Bubba-Boo, Boo, Boo-bear.......

There was no limit to the names he had just as there was no limit to the love he gave.

Ozzy passed away Tuesday morning a little before 3 am on his favorite spot on the couch. He was a 90 lb. lap dog that had a mean bark (that scared many a persons) but was a softie at heart. Once he knew you for 5 minutes you were forever his friend and he would snuggle and try and get on your lap with everything he had. He loved vanilla ice cream, rides to the gas station with Daddy, runs/walks, trying to steal food, McDonald's hamburgers, snuggling on the couch with Mommy, anything with Jace and Lexa, fishing with Daddy, and giving kisses.

Ozzy was a trooper, going from basically a first child to dealing with 2 new babies and never missing a beat...letting them climb on him, pull his ears and tail, and scream way too loud for anyone's ears let alone a dog. He will be missed forever.

Can't believe they brought home another one!

He loved his Lexa.
We love you Ozzy!!

Fresh Air How Art Thou.....

How art thou NOT be knocking these kids out at night?! Mommy wanted spring to be sprung for a variety of reasons most notably the fresh air to wear out Jace and Lexa. Turns out all it does is wear out Mommy.....
After a full Saturday outside, she was up bright and early applying her make-up. If Mommy hasn't said it in the last 24 hours, let her remind herself again....NEVER buy Barbie make-up. All Lexa wants to do is wear it...shocking.

Mommy ran a 5k yesterday morning. Her first real 'race' in a while. Last year it was all 1/2 marathon training and since then it has been more fun runs. She ended up finishing in 25:56 (8:21/mile for anyone keeping track...Fabulous Aunt Kay....)., which was 19th/121 in her age division and 72/728 females. Not her best time but acceptable for the first race of the year. Stay tuned...many more to come. And yes, the fresh air did wear her out.

And finally, a little video of Jace doing what he does best...shooting baskets. He literally has been outside all weekend. Tired? Nope.

Til next time lovely people!

All About Jace

Just a couple things about Jacer. First, Mommy mentioned in the last post how much he loves basketball. He got his basketball hoop up this week and it's all he has thought about ever since. First thing when he wakes up he gets his ball and starts bouncing in the kitchen....that's always fun at 7 am. Right after school, it's back outside until he is forced in. Mommy can't say this upsets her....

He has a shot like his Mommy....that is a good thing of course.

Jace is famous! His class was in the local paper for their Easter celebration at school. They had the last supper and washed their feet. Let Mommy tell you the feet washing didn't turn out well. Apparently Jace didn't let his dry before he put his socks back on. Nastiness.
The End!

Easter '13

Easter was spent at Grandma and Grandpa's with a quick shot up to Nana and Papa's Sunday morning. Candy overload may be an understatement so just know Jace and Lexa (and their Mommy) fared well and are set up in the sweets department for some time.

Saturday afternoon was an Easter Egg Hunt. A LARGE Easter Egg Hunt with a lot of prizes. Mommy was with Lexa while Erin was with Keegan and Tom was with Jace. Mommy had coached her children for 2 days prior, telling them to be aggressive and tackle if necessary. Let's just say....it was a bust. As soon as they said 'GO' Lexa stood there and sobbed. And Jace didn't cry but he kindly let the other kids have the eggs....and ended up with 3. Sigh. Keegan, however, did well and had a basket full! This is Lexa 'pre-hunt'. Otherwise known as 'pre-cry'.

Jacer reading Green Eggs and Ham to Keegan and Lexa. They are so sweet when they are sitting quietly. This gem of a time lasted for approximately 5 minutes.

Keegan. Cute and up to something.
Jace and Lexa did the wishbone.
(Mommy told Jace not to squint at the camera. Lesson learned)

Jace won! And at the risk of ruining his wish Mommy is going to share. He wished to turn into a monkey.....

They spent quite a bit of time watching a movie together. Aren't they sweet?
In between snuggles they were jumping on the bed and screaming. Not so sweet.

Beaner looking for eggs at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Cute cousins with full baskets.

Jace on the move looking for eggs at Nana and Papa's. He is so quick like a cheetah!
Jace is infatuated with basketball these days. Playing, watching, discussing. He spent almost all day Sunday playing on Nana and Papa's hoop.

Lexa joined in too!

And to end....Lexa chasing eggs at Nana and Papa's.
