Weekend O'Fun

Another weekend of fun was had at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was a bit of a last minute deal as Erin and Keegan made plans to go a few days before. Jace and Lexa could not miss out however since they hadn't seen their cousin since Thanksgiving! Keegan had changed so much but luckily hasn't quite passed Lexa in height yet. Give it a few months. 

Mommy was a bit of a slacker in the picture department  but was able to capture some of the fun at Fabulous Aunt Kay's....pair Auge genes, wine, and Wii Just Dance and it is picture worthy......

Jace's Birthday....or BirthWEEK!

Jace's birthday went well beyond a day. Apparently just celebrating your birthday one day a year is for 4-year olds. 5-year olds drag it out as long as possible. So Jace began the celebration on the 3rd with cupcakes for his class. On his actual birthday he hung out all day with Daddy, went to lunch at Burger King and played at the arcade. After presents, pizza, cake, and ice cream at home he enjoyed attending the UNI basketball that evening! The fun commenced on Saturday with a party for his buddies at McDonalds. Check it all out!!

Happy Birthday Jacer!

Happy 5th Birthday Jace!

5 years ago today it was nearly 50 degrees and one of the best days of Mommy's life. It began around 4 am with a gush of water and ended at 8:27 pm with a beautiful baby boy and his signature hair swirl.

Jace, at 5 years you:

*LOVE spiderman. This probably is very obvious right now but when you read this in 15 years you may have forgotten. Or maybe not.

*are around 37 lbs and 42-43 inches?? You wear a size 4 or 5T and a size 11 shoe.

*are very sensitive. You are a people pleaser and like to follow the rules.

*love preschool! It took a good 2-3 weeks but since then you have enjoyed every minute of it. Your best friends at school are Hunter, Lucas, and Joshua.

*are a great big brother. Your sister is very vocal and loves to push you (both figuratively and literally) whenever the opportunity is there. You typically keep your cool with her and are great about teaching her things and giving her hugs.

*love to eat chicken nuggets. Preferably in a McDonalds Happy Meal but you also like the Kids Cuisine meals. You also love everything sweet. You have slowed down some on your milk consumption but milk or water are still your drinks of choice.

*like to color, cut, and watch movies and Cartoon Network. You also enjoy playing outside (when it isn't January...or when it is this year), wrestling with Daddy, and watching Tony Stewart on Sunday. You have gotten into fishing and basketball with Daddy as well.

*can write your name, recognize many simple words, and are beginning to sound out and spell simple words. You understand simple math concepts and are able to do addition using your little fingers.

*school has you very interested in Jesus and heaven. You are constantly asking Mommy questions and are so inquiring about things when she doesn't know how the heck to answer.

*are typically shy at first but open up to people fairly quickly. You have a stubborn streak and really, REALLY like getting your way. Mommy still is very aware that you have been and are an extremely easy child. She never worries about taking you places and always knows both hands will be free to catch  your sister.

*are one of the sweetest, smartest, cutest boys Mommy has ever known. She is so proud that you are hers (ok fine, and Daddy's....but Mommy takes complete credit for your awesome hair) and loves you lots. As she always tell you, you are her best friend and her favorite boy ever!

Christmas 2011

As soon as Mommy posted the last rant she found the old posts. Oops. So here you go.....

Christmas 2011 was full of Spiderman and babies (not real babies but Lexa's). Actually you would have thought it was a baby shower at one point. Lexa's baby received a car seat, a pack and play, a diaper bag, diapers, bottles, pacis, etc, etc. And amazingly enough (and when Mommy says amazingly, she means AMAZINLY) Jace did not receive a single Spiderman duplicate!

Ok, one more thing. Having a new camera, a somewhat new laptop, and a new blogger layout is really causing Mommy to develop a headache. Somehow the pictures will not rotate. Well, they probably would if Mommy knew how. So you are short some pictures because Mommy can't bring herself to post them looking like that.

The first thing Lexa does every morning is check her advent calendar. She says, 'blue calendar' about 95 times until Mommy gets it down and gives her the chocolate. Mommy has no clue where this child came from......

Christmas Fun...Picture Overload.

This is probably going to end up being a picture overload but Jace and Lexa have been having so much fun preparing for Christmas that Mommy can't leave anything out!

Uncle Chuck was in town all the way from Florida. He won Lexa over within about a half hour.

Mommy and Jace had a mommy/son weekend which included going to Build a Bear.

It was fun....until Jace spotted the Spiderman outfit for his monkey. Then it was better than winning the lottery!!

Jace, Mommy, Grandma, Fabulous Aunt Kay, and Tate rode on the Polar Express Train to the North Pole. Jace and Tate had bunches of fun and were able to talk with Santa!

Lexa....21 months.

Mommy is a few days late (Lexa turned 21 months 3 days ago) but seeing as Miss Lexa is 3/4 of the way to age 2, an update was due.

Lexa, at 21 months:

*you are a handful. You are in to everything. You love hearing 'no'. You love getting in trouble. Mommy will even go as far as to say you love time out. Mommy must also add that she loves your personality and strong will.

*you are still a tiny little thing. Mommy estimates 23 lbs. and 32 inches. You wear a size 4 diaper, size 5 shoe and size 18 month clothes.

*your favorite thing is to play with your babies. You feed them, rock them, put them in their stroller. You even change their diapers...compete with Butt Paste!

*you talk a lot. You are putting 3 words together on a regular basis. Your favorite phrases lately are 'watch this' and 'had it first'.

*you still love your brother but your strong will is beginning to cause problems. You love to annoy him and do anything you can to make him scream. At the same time you can't wait to pick him up from school and you hug him first thing every morning.

*you still sleep in your crib....however you have been known to climb out of a pack and play so this may change soon.

*you are a meat and potatoes girl. You aren't really into chocolate (gasp) or sweets too much. You prefer meat, eggs, cheese, and bananas.

*you have a way of demanding attention. Mommy thinks it's the big personality crammed into that tiny body. Whatever it is, Mommy and Daddy love you so much and are so proud of you Bean!
