What's New?!

What's new with Jace and Lexa you ask? Well, let Mommy tell you....
School is going great! Jace had a few so-so mornings where he kept saying how nervous he was. BUT the last 2 have been nerve free! His favorite things so far are recess and Spanish. Kind of an odd pair but to each his own.
And Miss Lexa started back at Tricia's with no problem... if anybody had any doubts. When Mommy dropped her off she said, 'I love you but I don't want you to kiss me'. Umm. Ok.

Tom, Erin, Keegan, and Kona came for a visit.  Keegan ate his first whole apple. It is very ironic that he learned this at Jace and Lexa's house because as many of you know, their Mommy isn't always known for choosing greens over a cookie.

Petting the dogs. Who are more like  ponies to these wee ones. Keegan is giving Lexa the look that her Mommy gives her frequently.....What are you talking about?

But she does love her some Keegan. Actually any baby or small child. The funny thing is that as  motherly as she is, the majority of these kids are going to be bigger than her very soon.

Jace taking Keegan for a ride on the slide. They are having the time of their life....can't you tell by their faces?

Chuck E. Cheese. And this picture would be a keeper. Jace thinks he is hilarious (he is his Mommy's child), Lexa is attempting to shoot webs, and Keegan is like 'huh' (he is his Mommy's child).

School has been just what the doctor ordered for these two. The summer was  proving to be about a week too long this year and they were at their wits end with eachother. But now....apart all day and they are all love! Jace even proposed in the tub the other night. Lexa accepted of course. Their bubble was burst when Mommy told them they may go to jail if they proceeded.

Mommy's little fashionista.
That's all for now! Until later!

Lots 'O Pictures!!

Summer is winding down so Jace and Lexa have been trying to squeeze as much fun out of it as possible. And let Mommy say, the fun has just about been squeezed to the max. Too much togetherness = excessive fighting. But enough about that, check out the recent fun.

Ozzy had a birthday! He turned 8 years old! Jace and Lexa decided to let him borrow some of their stuffed toys to celebrate with. You can see the excitement it evoked in him.

Grandma and Grandpa were car shopping nearby last week so Jace and Lexa made a trip to see them and visit the science station. Grandma and Jace built cars out of legos and raced them...if you can call it that. Let's just say Grandma isn't quite a lego pro.....

Hard hats for hard headed children.

She trusted him enough to lift her using the ropes.  Although he is Spidey....so who wouldn't trust him.

THEN, Jace and Lexa were able to meet Tom, Erin, and Keegan at the zoo! Can you say fun overload?! Here are the little sweeties (insert sarcasm if you desire) posing on a frog.
Well shoot! In trying to add a caption to the photo with Keegan, it got lost. Lost somewhere in the scary land called the world wide web. To maintain her sanity Mommy is not going to try and find it. Moving on.....

Yep. They rode a camel. Actually they mostly just cried. And they rode a camel. But of course, 2 seconds after, it was SO AWESOME!

And there was face painting. Who could resist a Spiderman mask painted on their face? Not this boy. And then wouldn't ya know, Lexa NEEDED hers done too. She requested a 'girl one'.

Jace takes his Spidey responsibilities very seriously.

Apparently the superpowers are going to his head. That is quite the pose.....

And if all that excitement wasn't enough...Gaige had a birthday party. An Olympic birthday party! Jace and Gaige were (somewhat) pros at keeping a balloon between them while they walked. Slowly.

Oh Miss Lexa. You do resemble your Mama.

Playing 'toss the water balloon'. It was basically raining throughout the entire party so it was hard to tell what was a smashed balloon and what was water from the first rain all summer.

Lexa won a medal for being the best cheerleader. As you can see, her 'Lexatude' was out in full force. Maybe nobody told her that cheerleaders are athletes too?

Jace standing on the podium receiving his medal for best one shoed player. His Mommy (who won a medal for Mommy of the year---or not so much) put him in flip flops to run around in the pouring rain. Needless to say, he was wearing 1 shoe most of the time.

And that concludes this installment of Jace and Lexa's fun! Jace starts kindergarten on Wednesday so there most likely will be a post including his obligatory 'front of the school with a backpack' photo then. Check back!

P.S. Lexa is in big girl undies! Can she get a whoooo hooooo!!!!

Jace Phelps

The Olympics have been a magic pill for Jace. The Jace who, 2 months ago, needed a wash cloth over his face in the bath. The Jace who was a bundle of nerves if water came above his ankles. The Jace who, under no circumstances, wanted his hair wet in the pool. No more folks. That Jace is a changed man. His new goal....to be an Olympic swimmer. Oh how he laughs in the face of irony. More on that later. Check out a few other recent pictures first.....

It is so time for school/work to begin again.

Jace and his spider monkey doing a little snuggling.

And.....
No words.

Jace meeting his newest cousin (maybe 2nd cousin? Mommy has never been good with that. Logan is Mommy's cousin Kelsey's new bundle of joy).

Getting ready to swim at the pool in Grandma and Grandpa's town. Ignore the glare coming off Jace's tummy. Another result of the Olympics. Jace does not want to wear the swim shirt he has worn all summer. Because Michael Phelps does not. He is also on the hunt for a swim cap. But trust Mommy when she says, he adjusts his imaginary cap and goggles before he dives in each time.

There he is! Gold medalist 2024! He will now swim under water....without plugging his nose (he says without holding his breath but Mommy is at least 90% certain he still holds his breath), go under all the water falls at the pool, do some resemblance of a regular swim posture (does the arm motions AND kicks his legs WITH his face in the water), jump in, and float on his belly. Oh thank you Olympics. And peer pressure at the pool. You have saved our boy!
