Easter 2010 began with a visit to the Easter Bunny last week. Jacer was pumped. He and Mommy had a pep talk along the lines of 'no guts, no glory'. Jace was sure he had the guts to do the unthinkable.....sit ON the Easter Bunny's lap.
So Mommy, Jace, and Lexa head to the mall...in the rain no less...and wait in line. Jace gets to the front and has the guts to.....give the bunny a high 5. Mommy says, no problem, grab your free mini frisbee ( a strange prize in her opinion) and away we will go. But just then, Jace sees other kids (smaller than he) proudly sitting on the bunny's lap with nay a tear in sight. Soooo, Mommy, Jace, and Lexa get in line again.
Below is the final product. Note that Mommy is between Jace and the bunny...it's all about compromise. Also note that the bunny is holding James (the train). In the chaos Mommy wasn't even sure how that happened but got a chuckle out of the picture.
As Mommy paid for this work of art picture, she noticed Jace getting rather friendly with the Easter Bunny, giving high 5's, playing peek-a-boo, and even shouting, 'I love you Easter Bunny'. Mommy is quite sure the Easter Bunny thinks Jace has several personalities.
Easter morning was a bit of a bummer for Miss Lexa as she had a cold. 4 weeks and already sniffling! She was quite dramatic about the whole thing but Mommy did feel bad for her....but not bad enough to forgo pictures!
And she even made her wear a bow that mean Mommy...it looks like in mid-sneeze!!
After a short stint at work, Jace and crew headed down to Grandma Rosie's house to meet up with Nana, Uncle Keith and Aunt Darcy, and Ali. Jacer had an Easter Egg hunt all to himself...which is probably just as he would prefer! He was in heaven, particularly because he had a hunch the eggs contained chocolate!
The following is a picture parade of Jace finding his eggs. Feel free to insert your own commentary as Mommy has none.
A yummy lunch was also enjoyed complete with what else but black olives! Mommy is not related to this child.
Lexa was able to meet Ali
And then actually see her
Lexa also got reacquainted with Uncle Keith
Jace and Lexa both were pretty spoiled by those Grandma/Nana Easter Bunnies.
One of Jace's favorite things about Grandma Rosie's is her lime pile outside. Put a couple of John Deere tractors in and call it a party! Jace has even evolved from his train lingo days....the first time he played with a John Deere he called the wagons 'freight cars'. And for all he knew, the green on the tractors was because they were a distant relative of Thomas' green friend Percy.
The sneaky Easter Bunny didn't make it to Jace and Lexa's house before the festivities at Grandma Rosie's so they had to wait until evening to find their baskets. You can see how thrilled Lexa was with hers.
