If Jace's reaction to parade candy is any indication, he is in real trouble if he ever decides to take up drinking. The kid had maybe 2 or 3 tootsie rolls and looked higher than a kite. Ok, maybe it was 4 or 5 tootsie rolls and a few suckers (thanks to Fabulous Aunt Kay) but the amount of sugar did not equal the amount of energy Jace forced himself to expend during the parade. He did love it though...although he couldn't quite grasp the concept of saving some of the candy. The apple doesn't fall far.....
This is a classic Jacer look. With sucker in hand of course.
Horses!!
Jace's idol, Emma. If Emma stands, Jace stands. If Emma sneezes, Jace sneezes. If Emma..ok, you get the idea.
This is all the further Mommy got with the boots. You can see by Jace's face how thrilled he was getting this far. Mommy bribed him with a cookie and he reluctantly put them on. He ate the cookie (with a scowl as shown below) whining about the boots and promptly took them off when he finished. He's got it all figured out. Notice Mommy wasn't quick enough to get a picture with his actual cowboy shirt either. He agreed to wear it but then took it off too before actually entering the rodeo.
Jace really did love the rodeo but fell asleep for much of the middle. For being a skinny little thing, he is dead weight when he is sleeping. This picture captured the 2.5 seconds he allowed anyone other than Mommy to hold the sleeping prince.
Jace's rodeo weekend was a success! He was able to attend with Grandma, Mommy, Daddy, AND Nana and Papa. What a lucky boy! His favorite part was the horses of course although during the grand entry (with exactly 703 horses riding in the arena) Jace points out 2 lone birds in the sky. Not sure if that is observant or not??
