Lil' update.

Just a lil' update before Lexa's big day tomorrow. The big 0-4! Check back to see her at age 4!

She celebrated her birthday at school today since she doesn't go on Friday. Mommy gave her a crown to wear and she thought it was so special she wanted to wear it to bed. Mommy tried to get a cute picture but Lexa can't keep her eyes open with a flash for the life of her.

That's Jace! Front and center. Swimming! He has one lesson left and has done amazing!

Mommy took this at the end of karate Monday night to show the difference in size between Jace and the rest of the class. He is such a cute little man.

The End!

Oh that Mommy.

Well....Mommy is behind again. Where do the days go? She thinks she is on top of things and suddenly another week has gone by sans blog! Oh the humanity!
Let's regroup and check out what's been up in Jace and Lexa Land the last couple of weeks!

Pre Family Snow Tubing! Matching braids with Mommy's best girl!
Jacer was a mad man on the slopes!

Lexa loved it too....to Mommy's surprise. Or not surprise. One can never be sure with Lexa.

Most of the group! A few of the bigger boys were skiing. This group connected all of their tubes together and went down the hill in one big BOOM!

Aaaand there was this. Just one of the many pieces of evidence that the Auges were rookies. Lexa dropped her glove in the potty...post pee....about 5 minutes after her arrival. The poor girl that had to fish it out with a ski pole was a trooper.

Also last weekend was a visit from Nana and Papa! They were able to watch Jace in his last basketball game and celebrate an early birthday with Lexa. With cupcakes...if you couldn't tell.

Lexa got presents!

Lexa and her friend Sophia at the basketball game.

Jace and Lexa are still loving swim lessons. And are still wanting their picture taken with T.C. every time they get done. They are creatures of habit. Or something.

There have been several snow days. Several. SEVERAL. Anyway, one day it was a heat wave (think ABOVE 0) so the crew went sledding and made snow ice cream. It was slim pickings to find white snow in the vicinity of the house (Hawkeye) but they did it and it was delish!

Lexa stuck a Reece's Pieces up her nose one Sunday night and had to go to the doctor. Luckily it was no longer in sight and the doctor was fairly certain it either went back down her throat or would just melt. Apparently if you are going to stick something up your nose, chocolate is one of the best things. FYI.

And then there was Valentine's Day. They were showered with chocolate and surprises. Hawkeye only managed to steal some...apparently during the taking of this picture.
That's all for now! Mommy hopes to grace you all with another update in less than 2 weeks!

Mostly Lexa

This post is dedicated to Lexa because...well because she was with Mommy all weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's and was the one at the mercy of Mommy's camera.

Mommy leaves Lexa and Grandma in the store for 5 seconds.....

New pajamas and new slippers. It is safe to say this was a typical girls weekend...filled mostly with shopping and food.

And there was snow shoeing! Fabulous Aunt Kay introduced Mommy to this fun activity on Saturday afternoon!

Beaner in her new hat enjoying lunch at the maidrite.

Trying on Mommy's glasses!
That's all! Jace was with Daddy attending a Luke Bryan concert and a hockey game and had a great time as well!

ANOTHER upadate?!

Mommy seems to be on the ball this week. She has a few more pictures to share so she figured...no time like the present!

Jace and Lexa went to Davon's basketball game Tuesday night. And took some time to pose with Amiya...after a little prompting.

Oh yes. Mommy was there too.

Last night was the beginning of swimming lessons! This year Jace and Lexa each have their own instructor 1:1. They are both UNI students and so far it seems like it will be very beneficial!

And finally, dentist visits were on the agenda this week. This picture tells Mommy a couple things. First, Lexa is an awesome dental patient. And second, she  NEEDS bigger clothes!
Until next time!

Catholic School's Week 2014

Well....it has been an exceptional amount of time between blog postings. Mommy's sincere apologies. Her excuses include (but are not limited to): bad weather creating chaos in schedules and excessive togetherness, Mommy's 21 day sugar detox which resulted in laziness, Mommy's volunteering to be the co-chair of Catholic School's Week creating stress and taking time....etc. BUT, now that all of that has passed, Mommy is ready to come back with a bang! So enjoy these pictures from last week's fun filled Catholic School's Week!

Wacky Tacky Day! They are wacky. And actually pretty tacky. They get it honest.

School Dance Thursday night. Jace was on the dance floor most of the night. Lexa...on and off. Preschool through 8th grade is a pretty big age range...and somewhat intimidating on a dance floor when you weigh 30 lbs.

Helping Mommy get the concession stand ready before the dance.

Group shot! With Lexa the floating head....

School Spirit day! Apparently Lexa didn't have any school spirit as she did not pose. Honestly, there are many mornings she doesn't have any spirit period.

Dress up day! Jace's tie didn't seem right. But he insisted it be worn on the outside of his sweater. And really, who is Mommy to argue with a kid who has TWO girlfriends?

And finally, not a Catholic School's Week activity, but pretty cute nonetheless.
Mommy is highly motivated to once again keep up with this blog. Check back to see how she does!

Jace's birthday....round 2.

Jace celebrated his birthday for the 2nd weekend in a row. Saturday at the rec center as he had a sports party with friends from school and Sunday with a visit from Nana/Papa and Grandma/Grandpa.
Bean was sick Friday but luckily was back to her usual self by Saturday and able to partake in the festivities.

Check out wild Hawkeye staying calm with a sick kid. He is a good dog...Mommy just recognizes it more when he is asleep.

Ahh. See, isn't he sweet?

Ready to party!
Jace's cake for his rec center party

The party goers. They had a great time playing football, soccer, and kickball!

Jace was in heaven as he was his team's quarterback. He is already planning next year so he can run different plays.

Blowing out his candles. Let's just say it was not quiet EVER with this group.

And he fits in well.
Sunday Jace sat on the saddle at Texas Roadhouse so everyone could give him a yeehaw!

He was proud of his black tar from Nana and Papa and his  Chiefs gear from Grandma and Grandpa.

The end. And one last Happy Birthday Jace!

Jace's birthday....round 1.

Jace turned 7 on Saturday! His first round of birthday fun included an impromptu visit from Erin, Keegan, and Kona, fun at the bounce house with Amiya, an awesome Hawkeye cake, presents, and eating at a place where they cook in front of you. Next weekend is more birthday party fun with his friends....all 16 that he invited. Yikes.

Hawkeye and Kona met for the first time this weekend. Mommy cannot thank Kona enough. Nothing.....NOTHING up to this moment wore this dog out. And then came Kona. Hawkeye laid on the couch for like 3 hours straight. Cue Hallelujah music.....

Jacer and Keegan enjoying some Sunday morning pancakes.

His favorite gift....a Hawkeye football uniform....complete with helmet! Story on the helmet later.

Ready to tear into the goods!

Mommy loves this picture from the bouncy house. Does she need to point out that Lexa was pouting?

Jace and Hawkeye doing a little snuggling while he plays on his ipad.

Some of you probably saw this on facebook but Mommy will tell the story again anyway.
So Jace wanted that Hawkeye football helmet in the WORST way. It was all he could think about. So Mommy decides to (against her better judgement) take Lexa along for the purchase. On the way they discussed how important it was NOT to tell Jace about the helmet.  A promise was made....a pinky promise to be exact. It was even sealed with a kiss! Serious business.
So...approximately 1 hour after making the 'secret' purchase...
Jace: Man, I wish someone would buy me that helmet!
Lexa: Oh they did! I just can't tell you until your birthday.

Gotta love a 3-year-old.

And finally, Jace, Lexa, and Keegan with his awesome (and massive) football cake!
To keep with tradition....Jace, at 7 years you:

*wear a size 7 on average. You weigh about 44 lbs and wear a size 1 shoe.
*live for sports. Right now it is football but as basketball begins for you your focus will likely shift.
*you love the Gator Boys and your ultimate dream is to visit the Gator Ranch in Florida.
*you love school...some of your best friends are Jack, Hunter, Leo, and Frankie. Your teacher is Mrs. Rhomberg and she says you are a great student and a leader in your room.
*you are a great big brother. You and Lexa fight a lot but you also play great together. Some of your favorites right now are to act out Full House, Gator Boys, or the movie Air Bud.
*you love Hawkeye. You help clean up pee and feed  him daily.
*you are one of the most genuine, kind hearted people Mommy knows. Adults and kids alike are drawn to you because of your sweet, nice personality. Mommy is soooo proud of you!

Happy Birthday Jace!
