Hawkeye is Home...and Nana had a Birthday!

Hawkeye finally came home Monday night! It was also Nana's birthday on Tuesday so there are pictures of both occasions. Your welcome!

Bean and Hawkeye at Jace's soccer game.

Hanging out before school.
Happy Birthday Nana...cake and ice cream!

He loves his Jacer!

Lexa and Nana celebrating.

Hawkeye was the center of attention at soccer. He slept like a log after running with the kids during the game.

See.

That is Mommy's shoulder. He climbed up on a pile of pillows to lay his head on her.
More pictures sure to be coming soon!
The End!

Meet Hawkeye!

Hawkeye was born on August 10th and will be joining Jace and Lexa at home hopefully next week! He is a sealed brindle Boxer so he appears black. He is adorable!
He was born at the same place as Ozzy and actually is doing his growing right next to a litter of Ozzy's dad's newest puppies.
Jace and Lexa couldn't keep their hands off of Hawkeye yesterday and Mommy is pretty sure he was a bit overwhelmed.
Check him out!

Picture Ketchup!

Mommy has many pictures to share....finally! She is going to have to go back a few weeks to catch everyone up so let's delve right in!

Lexa and her BFF Lilly listening to music at the park.

Nothing like spending a late summer night with your bestie!

School picture day...and the first day she wore a skirt in several months. She has since changed her tune and wears them regularly. Can anyone say peer pressure?

Jacer on school picture day!

Labor Day weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's. 3 cousin spideys.

And 3 cousin....somethings....

Awww. They sleep together at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Then there was Sean Sawyer Day. Lexa wore a crown.....

Jace and Mommy rode scooters in the parade.

Lexa rode the princess float.

On Labor Day, Jace participated in the Lil' Spurs Rodeo. He rode a sheep! Kind of. He was excited for weeks before. Then.....well see the next picture.

He got in the chute and held on for dear life. While sobbing. In the end, he did it. Mommy was super proud! He ended up wanting to be a cowboy by the end so Mommy is certain he will do it again next year. With a bit more confidence.

Ready to watch the actual rodeo. This was when Jace was in his  'cowboy' mindset. If you couldn't tell. Thanks to Fabulous Aunt Kay and Uncle Doug for the saddle he was able to practice roping on. Speaking of....Mommy really needs a picture of that business. It is...interesting.

Beaner watching the rodeo.

Mr. Cowboy enjoying the performance.

Lexa and Grandma doing a lil' snuggling.

Watching Rodney Atkins and eating some chili cheese fries.

Nothing like a visit to the maidrite...when they are closed and you have the run of the place!

Lexa started dance last week. Note the tutu. The tap shoes proved to be a bit slippery but she got the hang of it quick and thoroughly enjoyed herself.

And finally...Jacer started soccer! He was a bit bummed because Mommy made him choose between soccer and flag football but he seems to be loving it so far!

And that concludes this edition of 'ketchup'. Let's hope the next post does not need a similar title!

Mommy thinks.....

...that blog posts will now become much more frequent. The kids are back to school and Mommy is back to work. This means back to a routine (well or something resembling one) and less chaos. To catch you up, here are a few pictures from the boredom that ensued the week before school started. Followed by first day of school pictures of course!

Jace did not want a back to school haircut. He wants to grow his hair long enough to slick over like Peter Parker (for those of you who don't live with a small boy, this is Spiderman). In the end, the salon had red gel that Mommy bribed him with. Haircut = spidey colored locks!

This. This is difficult to explain. They spent about 15 minutes sliding down the (carpeted) stairs on their bellies. It was all fun and games until the rug burns started popping up. You have never seen more dramatic children in your life. Trust Mommy on this one. Note they each have multiple bandaids on their tummy.

The part of summer (ok one of the parts) that Mommy will miss the most. Sleeping in! Lexa typically slept until 9 or so and Jace...well Jace would sleep until noon if you let him. They are wonderful.

Lexa bean at her finest.

First day of 1st grade! 8/14/2013

Jace and one of his best friends Jack before their first day.

More pictures for the second day of 1st grade...because this time his sister joined the fun!

1st grade and 3-year old preschool. 8/15/2013

Getting ready to go in. Mommy must admit that she was nervous (Mommy not Lexa). Lexa had told her she didn't want to make friends because she already had one. And obviously 1 friend is sufficient for a 3-year old. However, Lexa ended up doing great. She went in and started playing with no tears and from the sounds of it, even acknowledged a few of her classmates. Success!
That is all for now. Mommy promises to stay more up to date now that she is back to work. Soccer and dance coming soon!

What's Up......

Jace and Lexa have been busy bees as of late. Fun fun in the summertime is their middle name!
Fun at a Buck's baseball game. He got to dash for quarters after the game. There were 1,000 quarters spread on the field and the kids got to run around and pick up as many as possible. It was reminiscent of the Easter Egg Hunt. Jace got 1 quarter.....

A trip to the zoo! Jace rode a pony. Lexa did not. She wanted to. Then she didn't. Then she did. Then she didn't. You get the idea. In the end she didn't.

They took a trip to look for fossils with their friends Gaige and Carlie. It was a hike with rock climbing and digging.

Not your typical rock climbing pose but Mommy never claimed Lexa wasn't one of a kind.

They found tons of fossils! Apparently there was ocean life here 375 million years ago. Who knew?!

Picnic at the park with Lilly. On a perfect day! But a tad bright apparently.

Trip to Iowa City to meet Grandma and Fabulous Aunt Kay. The company explains the giant chocolate milkshake. It never fails.

Mommy loves a good road trip to the middle of nowhere to find a hole in the wall restaurant. This would be Jace and Lexa at a diner in the middle of nowhere northern Iowa. It was pretty good. Minus the absence of pie. Why does one go to a diner with no pie??

And finally...Marathon For a Month t-shirts. Check them all out! Thanks to everyone who participated!
