A little bit of summer

Summer is in full swing with trips to the pool on an almost daily basis. Also on the agenda this week was picking strawberries at the strawberry patch!
Jace and his friend Jack at the pool!

Bean and Lilly swimming it up!

These 2 helped Mommy pick 6.65 lbs of strawberries! First up was a pie...which Mommy ate in 24 hours. Then Mommy dug deep and found a couple domestic threads. She made cupcakes, PUREED strawberries, cut up more strawberries into itty bitty pieces, and assembled the whole thing into shortcakes with whipped cream on top. Insert feelings of satisfaction.
10 minutes later....BOOM! Hawkeye pulled the entire pan down and ate all but about 4. Sigh.

Mommy just loves this shot. Kids playing in rural Iowa. So pretty with the blue sky and cornfield backdrop.

Florida 2014!

Mommy has just uploaded a sh*# ton of pictures from Jace and Lexa's Florida adventure. Due to the high volume of photos, Mommy isn't going to comment on each one. Only the really REALLY good ones! So, in summary, the kids had a great time visiting Florida and Chuck and Denise. They stayed right on the beach, played in the ocean, dug to China, got buried in the sand, visited Everglades Holiday Park (home of the Gator Boys), saw where the Miami Heat play, attended a Florida Marlins game, went on a pirate ship adventure, and went to the Miami Seaquarium. They both did great on the drive with only 4,000 utterings of the word 'mommy'! So, without further ado....the pictures!

This one needs a caption....Jace ate escargo! Snails! And he liked them! Ewwww!!

Lexa liked the...butter.

If you look really really REALLY close you can can see Jace and Lexa on the step in front of the arena!

That's Mommy. With the guys from Flipper!

Chuck and Denise surprised Jace with his own personalized Heat jersey. His life was made!

And Lexa got a new American Girl baby!

This was the unfortunate end of the Miami Seaquarium as a huge storm rolled in. And Jace did this.....

On this day, he dined on gator. Mommy was surprised he was able to eat it after all the Gator Boys love. But he did it! Ewww.

Wheww! That was a lot! Many apologies if there are multiples! And there are most likely pictures that Mommy forgot so when she finds them she will share!
