School's Out!

Quite a bit of fun has been had already! 

Jace lost his third tooth the other day. While peeing. It caused a bit of commotion as he forgot about the task at hand (no pun intended) momentarily when his tooth fell on the floor.

Last day of preschool picture. And nearly last day of 1st grade!

Lexa's 'promotion' on her last day of preschool. The class sang a few songs and had a little ceremony. After all, you don't promote from morning to afternoon preschool every day!

Lexa is so different from her brother. When Mommy told her she would be coming to the ceremony Lexa said, 'oh, I kind of  like to be alone'.

Catching up!

Well Mommy had a bit of a streak going on the whole blog posting. Buuuut it appears she broke it. Good news....a new phone is allowing her to do this blog smashingly easily! So without further ado, get caught up!

Jace and Lexa have been anxiously waiting for Tropical Sno to reopen since last summer! Last week their wish was granted!

And then there were powdered sugar donuts.

Oh Jace, how Mommy loves you. At Grandma and Grandpa's for the weekend and he appears like this. Dressed in all yellow with paper made claws, mask, and belt. He is Wolverine.....not that anyone wasn't aware.....

Jace and Grandpa went fishing on Memorial Day. And caught this sucker! A 4 1/2 lb 20 inch bass. Jace was thrilled!

And finally, Lexa modeling her new dress. Mommy's college friend has started her own business and this was a gift for being her first customer! Adorable!

A Little Running and a Little Birthday.....

 Mommy spent the weekend running in the Market to Market Relay with 7 other fabulous ladies. It was a super fun 75 mile route from Jefferson to Des Moines full of fun, food, and laughs. She has pictures to share along with pictures from her birthday night! Ah how the birthday night pictures have changed.....

Mommy has wanted an ice cream cake forever so she decided to splurge on Coldstone Cupcakes. They were delish!

Lexa out to eat. She is strange. This was after she inhaled a steak. And after she told the waiter thank you for her  menu. When he didn't reply she looked at him and said, 'I said thank you'. Poor guy got all red and said, 'oh sorry, your welcome'.

Mommy was runner #1 (for most of the race). She did about 12.5 miles total with this picture taken at the start line.

The Recital that Happened!

The 2nd attempt at the recital was successful! Lexa made it to the stage and did wonderful! Check out the beautiful dancer for yourself:

In addition to recital fun, it was a weekend full of superheroes. It was free comic book day complete with live action figures. This is Jace....attempting to fight Venom.

Lexa and Catwoman. You may notice Lexa's attire. She dressed in all purple (in which most, if not all of it, was too small)....and declared she was 'Purple Girl'.

Jace's friend Charlie spent the night Friday and they were dressed like this much of the time after going to The Amazing Spiderman 2. Mommy must say....it was an adventure.

The Bit of Easter that Wasn't. And Haircut!!

Well somehow Mommy messed up her last post and deleted a couple Easter pictures meant to be included. Hence the title...A bit of Easter. So, this post she included them...hence the title...The Bit of Easter that Wasn't. Yes, yes, she knows she is clever. The rest are Lexa's....HAIRCUT!

It was Grandma's birthday the day after Easter!

This is a throw in addition. The kids' school had an art show last night at a local bank. They each had a piece of artwork displayed. And there was cheese. That's the accessory hanging out of Lexa's mouth.

He was far more concerned with the whole process than she was. Lexa has been ready to cut it for months. Jace was so worried she would regret it. Let's just say empathy is not an area of concern for Jace.
