The Dance Recital that Wasn't. And a bit of Easter.

Lexa's first dance recital began seemingly well with her hair and makeup done, fans in attendance, and costumes ready. Mommy and Lexa spent the first portion just waiting backstage as the bunnies were near the end of the first half. Finally it was Lexa's debut time and she was lined up and led off. Mommy sat down in the crowd ready to view the results of a year of dance (and $$) and with just 2 dances before Lexa's...the power went off. And stayed off. Ms. Allison made the call to cancel the recital after about an hour without power. And....as the dancers left...the power came back on! Ah the luck! It ended up being a fun experience and one Lexa will surely never forget. Check out her beautiful self!

She won the brother lottery. He was so nervous for her and then concerned when the power went out and she was backstage. What a dreamboat!

In other news....Jace and Lexa before school.

She came downstairs in a shirt clearly found in a 'too small, for sale' pile. Mommy checked the size just to see....size 6 months.

There are talks of a make up recital. If so, Mommy will surely bombard you with more pictures of Lexa in hair and makeup!

The Last Week....

The last week has been full of fun. So, without further ado, here it is!

Easter egg hunt at Nana and Papa's. The Easter Bunny came early and HOOKED Mommy....err...Jace and Lexa up with candy!

This is Lexa's newest bribe gift. Product of a cooperative girl during hair and makeup for dance pictures. Who knows what the actual recital will bring...a pony? Lexa is a master negotiator.

The Easter Bunny was at Walmart!

Mommy and Jace ran in a 5k at Jace's school on Saturday. It was his very first one and to say Mommy was proud of him would be an understatement. The kid rocked it and showed so much heart and willpower. He finished in 29:13!! And he is 7!

And immediately after, got out the basketball. He never quits.

Before the race. Mommy was under the impression it was going to be a silly pictures. Apparently she was alone in her thinking....

The weather has finally been nicer which means playing outside. In our police hats apparently.

Thursday night Mommy, Jace, and Lexa went to Ames to see Beauty and the Beast the Broadway Musical. It was really good and topped off with the ability to bring cotton candy into the venue.

Mommy's friend from college has started making girl's dresses and matching dresses for their dolls. This is Lexa and Julie modeling their first purchase!

Lexa had her dance pictures taken today. She was pretty adorable in her costumes if Mommy does say so herself.

OOPS!!

Well, another longer than intended break from the blog has ended! Celebrate with pictures from the past couple of weeks!

This is hard to see but Lexa is wearing stick on nail things. She was extremely proud of them...as you may be able to infer from the picture.

Mommy can't even remember why she wanted her picture taken but she is guessing the braids? Lexa is beginning to actually like having her hair done! Hallelujah! However she now states that she wants her hair short. Mommy told her she had to wait until after her dance recital and then the mop is fair game.

This is a still moment. They are very rare. Mommy would guess this was in between episodes of getting in trouble. Or very, VERY early morning when he had not yet been naughty.
